Good morning everyone,
well shopping trip yesterday was very successful. Managed to buy seven Christmas presents and something towards my mother's gift. M&S cardigan real price £25 and reduced to £13. Will shop around for trousers and top and that will be her sorted.
Had quiche defrosting for dinner last night but my sister treated me to lunch when we were out so quiche will be eaten tonight.
Just off to back garden in a wee while to tidy up. Will also pick another lot of parsley to freeze and there might be some salad leaves ready for harvesting.
Through determination I am starting to make a hole in my food mountain, I have even opened my last box of tea bags. Plan to bring box of cleaning materials, I have stored in hut, into my house today to start working my way through them instead of forgetting what is out there and buying new.
Hope you all have a fruitful and frugal day.It takes a long time to eat an elephant and I'm doing it a bite at a time!!!0 -
Morning all
Busy day today, going to Mr A and B&M for a few things. As I bought all my meat a few days all I need in MrA is fruit , veg, milk and bread.
I adjusted my signature as after my shop at Makro a few days ago decided only to count the meat. I bought enough washing powder 3 months, DW tablets have enough for a year and loo roll for about 2 months lol So decided not to count these things in my £350 a month budget as I buy them in bulk but will put a few £ away each week for my next trip to stock up. lol
I am budgeting for £20 in MrA so will see what happens lol
I need
Bread
Milk
Apples
Bananas
Grapes
Melon
Pineapple
Oranges
Onions
Carrots
Leeks
Peppers
Potatoes
I suppose really I should go to fruit shop but no parking near it , not sure what to do lol Decissions decissions lol
Hope everyone has a good day

Where would that count?
It is called Jude the Obscure and is available from a nursery in East Grinstead.
I tracked it down after smelling it at Highgrove House this Monday last. It is the most GORGEOUS scent ever. A large yellow rose with pinky-orange tinges.
So.... essentialsor what ?
(it is 14.99)
Personally, I would put this in my 'gardening' budget - or 'treats' budget as it isn't food or something else that would get 'used up' IYSWIM?
Have just done my big shop and spend nearly £60! This is because I am trying to help DH lose weight and cutting out/down carbs. Meat and fish are expensive compared to potatoes and bread! Anyway, the diet is working as he has lost 5lbs in 10 days fairly painlessly, but I will have to be careful. We are out tomorrow visiting rellies and on Sunday I am going to do a chicken which should make two or three meals for us. So I am hoping that I won't have to spend much more this coming week.
Have a good weekend everyone.

Hi all
Quick update. Spent £27 yesterday at coop and tesco - mainly fruit & veg and staples and a chicken/fresh tuna and some reduced sausages.
I def have enough food to last us to Monday/Tuesday next week with the bits I have left in the freezer but will need to do a proper big shop to stock up a bit. I'm away for a week mid July so should be okay budget wise - famous last words!
Have a lovely weekend everyone.
