Happily reporting another NSD today. :) I think I'll start noting them in my sig though. I am so far resisting the temptation to go to Mr T or Mr M at lunchtime and so am not picking up "bargains" left, right and centre. It's an exercise in buying what we need, rather than what we might need! I'm getting better at it though. :)

    Have a nice evening, everyone.

    Hiya all,

OH went and got a couple of bits from butcher and grocer today and spent £7.48 which I've added to the sig.

It's great to read how well you are all doing - who said resistance is futile eh?!? ;)

We probably won't buy anything else this weekend now so hoping for another couple of NSD and I don't go shopping on a Monday as it's a hectic day in work so hopefully that'll be another one. (Fingers firmly crossed!)

We were chuffed to be under last month and July needs to be as much under or more if I'm to claw back some of the car, dentist, tobacco, etc costs from June. Oh it's going to be a struggle. _pale_

Anyway, off to put me feet up, been a couple of really heavy weeks work wise and next week will be the same so need to refresh whenever I can. :o

Take care all, have a great weekend and thank you for the inspiration.

    All the best,

now there is a question. I have only made this twice but here goes

    3 large leeks
    2 onions finely chopped
4 medium potatoes cut in small cubes
3 veg stock cubes in 3 litres of water
    Season to taste

Sweat the onions and leeks in some butter for 10 minutes on medium heat. Check every few minutes and stir. Add potatoes stock and bring to boil then simmer until potatoes soft. Leave to cool then blend to thickness required and add more water if needed.

As I had some cooked chicken today I chopped it up and added at same time as potato.

I really am new to all this cooking lark but everyone has liked the soup's

Hi all Friday at last :j weekly shop done, only spent £21.08 and that included quite a few whoopsies in Mr M.

Yesterday bought Hoisin Spare Ribs in Lidl for OH, only £2.99 so I thought not too expensive even if they were rotten :D. He had them tonight for tea, 20 minutes in the oven and they certainly got scoffed, so that was a good buy after all.

Not sure what to do at the weekend as weather for Scotland not too promising  Anyway hope you all have a pleasant weekend.
