They are selling for more on eBay..

I might list mine and see if it sells for the £90+ and buy another.. ;)
  • I got one of these at christmas and it is brilliant. The pictures are great and because it's so small I carry it round in my bag. As a result I have far more fottage of the kids than I got with the big video camera.

can anyone share any experiences of the battery problems?

i've seen a fair few reviews where people say their flip ultra hd's are now just bricks.

I thought the ultra hd took AA batteries as well as the battery pack?

The battery packs do resemble normal AA batteries, so I'd guess they can take normal batteries too.

I'm still worrying about buying one of these because for every good review I read there is always a bad one to follow.

TBH same here, has some good reviews then a few about battery problems. I know Amazon have a 30 day money back guarantee but does it come with a 12 months manufacturers warranty?

Just got My Ultra HD and so far it looks good!

Yes it does have a 12 month statutory warranty, with the normal exclusions for things like mods/wear n tear etc.

It can use 2 AA batteries instead of the supplied pack - it's in the instructions.
sofware is pre-loaded, but it comes with no backup media cd

You get the unit, a wrist strap, a velvet-like carry case, instructions, warranty card.

Operation is simple point & Shoot - the only controls you have are sound level and zoom (digital - not very good). everything else is automatic or fixed setting. When you start it for the first time you set language/date/time & save. That is the full extent of the settings interface.

Works perfectly in good light, but looses definition in low light. HDMI interface works first time in 720p, though you need to buy your own HDMI-A to Mini HDMI-C type cable.

Battery arrived about 3/4 charged, so I shot a 2 hour max film and let the battery run out so I could charge from dead (or low battery as the unit says, when you try to switch it on with an essentially discharged battery). Manual (& website) says it takes 6 hrs to recharge and one shouldn't leave it connected much longer when its fully charged to ensure good battery life.

Only niggle is that my laptop has USB on its right hand side, which means I have to have the main body pointing away from me - toward the back of my laptop - rather than lying neatly beside it. Like I say, it's just a niggle. Probably better to connect using a USB extension cable.

I think the delete button doesn't just delete vids, as it allows a 'delete all' option which wiped all the supplied share software too! So delete all isn't 'delete all videos'.

Seems reasonably well constructed and was OK packaged by Amazon (put the package in the corner of the postal pack and just added brown paper padding around it-jeez, who packs these things!!). Anyhoo, the unit seems well protected in it's own box.

I hope this answers a few questions and is appropriate for this thread.
