How odd, maybe the cream amount in the ingredients list was wrong. Have to say, I've never used cream in mine before though. Sorry :o

    Morning,

hope you don't mind me dropping by, busy looking for ideas for the festive period :)

I have a fool proof and very quick and easy truffle recipe, honestly can't tell you how yummy they are, made them for coffee mornings etc and passed the recipe on to loads of people.

Cookies & Cream Truffles (Oreo's Truffles)

500g Oreo's (them on special offer in supermarkets when they are about 59p, as it's about 3 packs)
    250g Cream cheese (tub)
    the Covering

    400g Milk Chocolate
    100g White Chocolate

    1. In a blender crush the oreo's
    2. In a large bowl add the cream cheese and softened with a spoon
    3. Add oreo's and mix until combined.
    4. Roll into small truffle sized balls and lay on greeseproof paper
    5. Chill in Fridge for about 45 mins.
    6. Melt milk chocolate and cover balls & put back in the fridge until set
    7. Melt white choclate and drizzle with a fork to finish off.

    Hope you enjoy! x

  • Brilliant - I will definatly try that one - though need to buy some plain cream cheese as I don't think that the garlic philly will taste the same some how!:)

Hi, I was going to make fudge today and bought loads of sugar and condensed milk. Ive just looked at the recipe posted a couple of pages back from the Carnation web site and it says demerara sugar. I dont have enough and have no cash to buy extra.

Does anyone know if granulated would work or have a different recipe that uses gran sugar and condensed milk?

I was thinking I could just make tablet but the recipe has milk in it and im guessing it is full fat milk, I only have semi skimmed.

im not doing very well am i? lol

just an update on my fudge disaster. i decided to go ahead and make Scottish tablet. Its currently setting and so far looks not bad. Its starting to set round the outside so fingers crossed.

my next questions is, can you freeze it? I remember freezing Nigellas chocolate fudge last year but not sure if I can feeze tablet.

I had to stir constantly for 45 minutes then beat rapidly after that so my arms aching and im not too keen to make more lol.

EDIT- woohoo it has set and tastes fab. ill be making more next week, dont think this batch will last .

Would be interested to know how long you bake the mini cakes please?

I baked them for about 90-100 minutes altogether. They came out really well. Can't wait to ice and marzipan them.

    Thank you.

Any idea how long it keeps and the best way to store it please?
