    350 x12 months = 4200 x 3 years = £12600

if you have the lump sum you could pick up something quite special for that kind of money second hand (even 'nearly new')

Sell it at the end of the 3 years and get some of your money back.

    quick look on autotrader shows:
    vauxhall monaro 5.7 V8
    nissan 350z 3.5 V6 or bmw z4 3.0 v6 (only two seats though)
    audi a3 3.2 v6
    impreza turbo

all within budget, all less than 5 years old with below average miles.

    With huge potential running costs!

Op and otehr half are both under 30 so insurance still an issue i would have thought as well

Nice cars though! i was very tempted last time with a Monaro - awesome beast

The new Alfa Romeo Giulietta looks gorgeous in pics - the 170bhp MultiAir looks fun and good value.

    Fiat Coupe 20V Turbo :D

Thats the best suggestion so far. You won't be able to drive it mind, it will be at the local garage being mended all the time.

If you could get away with a 2 seater, look at a toyota MR2 roadster, lotus elise (2nd gen pref) or vauxhall VXR (turbo or non turbo)

I've driven the cooper S and it is a fun car to drive, but thirsty as its impossible not to drive anywhere with your foot to the floor.

I also like the toyota supra twin turbo (mst be manual) (sod the mitsu, this is the fastest car for the cash ;) )

Fiat 500 abarth is supposed to be an absolute hoot too.

I think the person suggesting the mazda 3 is taking the p!ss, about as fun to drive as watching England play.
