Mrbadexample, thank you for trying to help, however as a vegetarian what you are suggesting is not an option and hopefull the spray will work.
Sorry.
Hopefully the spray will work. I had no idea such stuff existed. Good luck!If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
Mrbadexample - no problem! My Mum has suggested the same thing! Hopefully the spray will work!0

There are also little rubber rings which go over the beak to stop them opening wide enough to peck another. It sounds cruel but is just restrictive rather than painful. MIL has used them but I haven't even though I have a little bit of feather pulling/eating myself. It doesn't sound as serious as yours, though. Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.
If you quote me, don't forget the capital 'M'

I know someone who had a really bad chicken pecking situation. Blood everywhere. She ended up sitting with the chickens for a couple of hours - every time the pecker started on the victim it got a (gentle) tap on the beak with a stick. Worked a treat and now the hens are getting on fine.0
