Another organisation that may be helpful is the Princes Trust.

Oooh dmg you got in there before me!

OP - I work for Prince's Trust as a Team Leader so if you have any questions about the Team programme feel free to ask.

I think it could be very beneficial for your daughter, currently on my team now I have a 21 year old girl who barely left her house (due to horrendous bullying in the past) before she joined the programme, but she is really flourishing now. She has made friends and gained confidence, and it's only week 3!

It's a 12 week programme so if she started now she could still go to college in Sept. If she joined now whilst she is under 18 she would get around £50/wk training allowance. If she joined after turning 18 then she would either claim JSA/ESA/DLA etc or do it voluntarily.

HTH and good luck to her.

Get it sorted early, would be my advice. There was a post on here a few weeks ago where a retired person admitted his 28 year old son had been a virtual recluse for a decade, staying in to read and use a home gym, and refusing to seek medical help or claim benefits. This meant the father was at a loss what to do to resolve the situation because it was so intractable by then and was worried about what would happen to him when he passed on.
