I was introduced to the new type of cat litter - can't think of the name, but it is a small bag of crystals. You can seriously leave it for 4 weeks and no smell at all with the cat wee and just take out the poopie everyday. £3.50 per bag from Morrisons or Sainsburys. It is so much better - wish I had found it ages ago because the wooden pellets have that smell about them and these crystals don't. Give them a try and they are light weight too, so don't weigh a tone when you are taking it to the car.Food and Smellies Shop target £50 pw - managed average of £49 per week in 2013 down to £38.90 per week in 20160

The thing about the Crystals is that by leaving the pee coloured crystals for weeks without scooping them out is a bit naff. I tried them but changed to the Okuplus that you can put down the loo.0 -
I have used catsan for 12 years now, but it has suddenly dawned on me how expensive it is compared to other litters. the cats both use trays, they dont 'go' outside, even though they go outside
what do you use, i dont like the wood pellet stuff and need something that prevents odour (as much as poss anyway)
thanks
I have tried lots of other brands but always end up on Catsan. Even though it's more expensive I find you lose less and because it holds smells better it needs changing less frequently. I hve 6 cats. Last year I tried to change to a cheaper brand and ended up using far more so price wise it cost more and my cat's weren't as happy. Shop around for catsan a lot of online suppliers frequently have deals on it. At the moment I think Pet plant is cheapest0 -

:eek:Surely Hygiene wise this is pretty dodgy 4 weeks without cleaning a litter tray sounds like a great way to harbour infection and disease. Would you want to leave your toilet at home without cleaning it for 4 weeks even if it smells ok  And your toilet has flushing water unlike a litter tray.0
