So cleaner could lead to cleaning supervisor, could lead to area manager, could lead to your own cleaning company. But then again I suspect you think it is just better to sign on and spend all day watching repeats of Jeremy Kyle whilst moaning about how unfair it all is.

    coy, idiot, patronising

    take your pick.

    Everything.

Just because you are unemployed does not mean you take stupid jobs that dont pay the rent plus bills each month.

Cleaners? veg pickers?, seriously? come on now lol

And thats if they are even available in your area.

I certainly wouldnt do these jobs. I didnt do well in school to just do crap jobs thank you. Should I become unemployed in the future that is.

So in your world it is OK for the cleaner on £12k to be taxed so that you can afford to do nothing because it is all below your dignity. Pathetic.

None pay enough for a living.

low of the low in fact.

Poor immigrants take it because anything is better than their 1 pound an hours.

Said this for the last time.

I disagree, it would still be a job and one which pays...ok the pay would not be amazingly high but it could lead onto others things and so tide you over until then.

If I could, then I would do any of those jobs (although I was absolutely crap at the cold calling thing, I am just way too nice! :rotfl:)
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Where did I say anyone with genuine illness incapable of work should work? I didnt. What I said was, scroungers who feign illness (and I believe thats the majority on incapacity, based on the distribution of claimants by area) , need to be given a firm boot up the jackseye and told to crack on.

MS and ME are diagnosable, nasty diseases that I could never begrudge welfare payments; if anything their welfare should be increased where they have led productive, taxpaying lives in the good years.

What I cannot agree with however, is this socialist utopia that people who made bad life choices and now claim "incapacity" should be supported; same with those long term unemployeds offered work and who turn it down.

IMHO, they should be lined up and shot as a waste of time and energy.

I apologise if I misunderstood your post - I thought you were having a pop at all benefit claimants.

I agree with the points about unemployed (maybe not the part about being lined up and shot!) - though my experience of unemployment is zero, even down to family and friends and even to the street where we live, there are no single parents, no unemployed - there are a couple of stay at home mums and a couple of elderly people who don't work.

The same can be said about incapacity, my experience again is limited to friends, family and work colleagues and the couple that do claim are genuine.

I suppose I've lived a fairly sheltered life!!

The level of benefits being claimed and the number of recipients is not something that's ever crossed my until recently, we have a load of benefit bashing threads, and I'm not really sure how I feel about it tbh. Being a mostly honest person I find it hard to believe that there appear to be so many people on the "fiddle" helped along by their doctors/hospitals.

The only other issue I have is, where will the jobs come from?

That really is a very snobbish thing to say.

You would be happy to take the benefits paid for by those lower orders (Who maybe didnt do so well at school) that would be paying them for you though.

Glad to see your self confessed cleverness and education allow you to construct a persuasive argument for your point of view.
