I just received a phone call from Microsoft telling me that I had accidently downloaded files which were corrupting my computer and asking me to come on here and they would fix it for me. Would Microsoft actually call you up or is this some sort of scam? The girl was happy to give me her name and a number to call back on so seems a bit weird if it is a scam. I also felt it was a bit odd as I have internet security with a completely different firm so surely its more likely that they would get in contact? Also how would they get the number to call in the first place? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Try a different browser if you have one, it's the quickest way to see if cookies / current browser is giving you probs.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. The best I could do (still have to hit search though):
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/search.php?query=microsoft+scam
Also taken a lot off the end...certain search parameters that arise when doing a bog standard search...
Copy this kind of link from the word 'search' in the green bar above the search results...-Scott-
