Wing mirror
Hello!!
At the weekend someone broke my wing mirror. According to my next door neighbours it was bunch of drunk lads in England shirts walking around the town and celebrating on Saturday night. God knows what they were celebrating on Saturday. My next door neighbour's car was done as well.
My car is Suzuki Swift 2008 and only the casing for my wing mirror was smashed. The mirror (glass) itself is undamaged. Can I get just the case? And where? And do you think my OH would be able to fit it himself? I mean do you think the fitting is quite straightforward?
I don't want to call the dealership as it is not exactly close and the last time I was there I wasn't very happy with them (sooo expensive!).
Thank you very much

Which part of the casing is broken? The back cover can nornally be easily replaced on most cars. If it's another part of the casing, you may find the wing mirror casing itself is not sold separately, and you need to buy a complete wing mirror replacement. Search on Ebay for a replacement."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

Hi,
It is the back cover. It has hole in it.
So if you imagine that you take it of, you are left with the hard black plastic construction. Do you know what I mean?0 -

Just rung dealership just to check the price. £35!! For some blo*dy vandals who cares for noone and nothing but drink. Uuuurgh, it annoyes me sooo much.
Thanks Shuaibf, I will have a look into that.0 -
£35 is quite good value IMO for a wing mirror from a main dealer. Wait till you have a heated motorised one with an indicator on and see how much a main dealer wants to take off your hands then0

That is not whole wing mirror!! that is just the back plastic casing!!
http://www.partsgateway.co.uk/ is one such place.
You might struggle for secondhand parts though as its such a new car, not exactly a 10 year old corsa with loads of dead ones knocking around to cannibalise like my mother's car is!0 -
The price you have been quoted is dirt cheap, it's eithe generic blacl or will need painting. A complete mirror for anything from a Renault to an Audi will typically be £175 to £350:eek::eek::eek:I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
