pigpen hope your day goes as smoothly as possible for DD getting ready for the prom - I am sure she will be stunning and i hope she has a fab time xx

Well it hasn't been smooth so far!!!

The woman who was to do her eyebrows and nails is off sick so she is there right now after we rang around like loonies trying to fit her in somewhere else!!

She has her hair appointment at 3:30pm.. which should take about an hour so needs a shower before then.. once she gets back..

I also had to pick DD2 up from school as she isn't well.. so we fit that in.. it is all quite manic! She was meant to be going to her friends from school but obviously isn't doing that now.

And the form I wanted the child benefit letter for has been returned as the letter isn't good enough!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are taking up to 4 weeks to send out replacement letters too!!!

My sister appeared and she had spoken to the landlord he's going to give them another 2 weeks. He did tell her to sell the car to pay him, she tied in with the car so thats no good. So they have 2 weeks or he's coming to change the locks.

Vanilla, I haven't noticed what's happened to your sister prior to this post, but is she being evicted for non-payment of rent? If so, the landlord can't just change the locks, he needs to go through the proper process. There's more info on CAB Advice Guide (depending on where she lives, it may be a different tab, across the top).

Coffee and HM banana-choc muffin decluttered (I may need to wash my shorts - they appear to have chocolate on them :) ). Off to do some paperwork, then into town to the bank, PO, butcher, paper shop

Thanks PenPen, yes it's for non-payment. He won't take housing benefit and she isn't working, there now 4 months behind. He won't take the housing benefit because he hasn't been paying the rates. They have no tenancy agreement nor proof of paying rent as it was paid cash. There both as bad as each other, he isn't paying the rates and my sister is awful with money.
Thanks for the info, i'll get her to read it once she comes back.:A
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

To the bit in red  That makes me think she's in NI, too (in England we have council tax, which replaced rates).

She really needs advice - can she contact CAB? I'm not a housing specialist, but there will be people there who can give her the correct info. If she's been living there, then there is a contract between her and the landlord, whether in writing or not :)

    Good luck!

  • I'm a bit old fashioned - I love the Lancaster drone. And the Merlins on a Spit. But I do enjoy the Red Arrows - the block we live in is right at the top of a hill and is a chevron shape, so they (and all the private flights) use it as an alignment point for the runway. DD2 is sure that the pilot playing 'catch up' on the regroup - the one just before they bank and go back for the big split thing over the runway - has deliberately got just a little bit closer to the block for the last 2 years and swears that the pilot waved to her last time as she watched from the balcony (I was there and did see 'something', but I was too slow looking to say whether it was a wave or not)

Driving lesson went well, instructor let off steam about the funeral he went to, he's happier now, I did OK and he's nagging me to book my test now.

Got to go to get DD2 from the high school in ten minutes, so no time for flying.

    Time for tea, though :)
