I assume you are with Natwest or Nationwide?
The payment will be earmaked. They do state T&Cs that payments should have enough money in the day before taken, so it shoudn't matter as you should have enough money in already.0 -

Can someone explain or point me in the right direction? The money was not just earmarked, it was taken. It is even dated the 28th on my online account.??
Thanks.0 -
Jonesy, I know what you mean.
Yes they can, its legal, its the way a lot of banks operate. Monday's transactions show up on Sunday.0 -

Don't worry, my bank does this too and I'm with Lloyds. There's no such thing as a stupid question, if I didn't know the answer and it hadn't happened before I'd have asked too.Everyone I know wants to be a millionaire.
Not me, I want to be a billionaire.0 -
I understand about having the money available, what gets me is my bank (Halifax) have actualy taken the money today.!0

I've not known them do that before, that's a bit strange. Sorry, don't know the answer, but welcome to MSE anyway :beer:Everyone I know wants to be a millionaire.

It only shows as going out provisionally, hence when it is forward dated. It is on the basis that funds have to be in your account the working day prior. They do this so that you don't draw the funds on your account, thus missing your payments.Best Regards
