in Credit cards
Hi everyone
Can anybody offer some advice???
We're due to go on holiday next month all booked and paid for online with credit card in march through
fresh holidays(aldi travel(onholidaygroup))
you can already see the problem i'm sure
the problems strated when they changed our flight times twice.....the times have been altered by 12 and a half hours both inbound and outbound....our child is still in school which prevents us from going at the new times.
bearing in mind had we booked these stupid middle of the night times we would have saved over £300 on the cost of the holiday:mad:
6 emails each, to several different addresses, for all 3 companies AND a letter sent recorded delivery!!!! absolutely no response from any of the companies?????
We also contacted the hotel as we had some special medical requirements we needed to discuss.........to our horror the hotel have no such booking GREAT we tried contacting the company again NOTHING
All we want to do is have the family holiday we've been looking forward to all year.
Where do we go from here???
Can we claim money back on credit card in time to rebook a holiday?
Hope someone can help
Thanks

Is there a phone number you can phone?
What are the terms and conditions of the holiday that you signed up for? In particular what do they say about changing the flight times.
It is difficult to advise you at the moment because we do not have enough information.0 -
yes we rang but they pass the book to the next person and so on until you're back where you started we're now studying the terms and conditions with a fine tooth comb to give us more fire power when we FINALLY get in touch (dog chasing tail comes to mind)
have resent all the emails again today and will ring again tomorrow
thanks for the replies0 -
hi all just spoke to customer services at fresh holidays about flight time being over twelve hours difference from original booking they said sky airlines (thats who our flight is booked with) is closed today because they are moving ! i must be the unluckiest person in the world. lol0

Hey,
This is a generic term added into most tour operators terms and conditions. Where you will have the argument is in showing that the change is significant; if it changes the arrival or departure day, then this should suffice. SPECIFICALLY- I assume from the airline (Sky) you are going to turkey? If so, then the fact the new flights are middle of the night should mean they arrive early morning in the UK, this I assume will mean you are arriving home on a different day to that which you booked.
To put this into context. I have had a full refund on a holiday with First Choice, because of a change greater than 4 hours.9.1 SCHEDULES
9.1.1 The flight times shown in timetables may change between the date of publication and the date you actually travel. We do not guarantee them to you and they do not form part of your contract with us.
9.1.2 Before we accept your booking, we will notify you of the scheduled flight time in effect as of that time, and it will be shown on your Ticket. It is possible we may need to change the scheduled flight time subsequent to issuance of your Ticket. If you provide us with contact information, we will endeavour to notify you of any such changes. If, after you purchase your Ticket, we make a significant change to the scheduled flight time, which is not acceptable to you, and we are unable to book you on an alternate flight which is acceptable to you, you will be entitled to a refund in accordance with Article 10.2.0 -
Oh, and to answer the question about claiming a refund on credit card. I assume you mean under section 75 (?). This would not be available in your case, as they have not failed you, they have simply changed the times as (I'm 99.999999% sure) their T&C's allow them to.
As an aside, I've been caught out by a company putting 5 or 6 different flights on sale for a destination, then when they work out how many people they have, consolidate them into 1 or 2, which involved changing peoples flight number and times...cheeky beggars ain't they!0 -
thanks for you reply badgerface:T i am slowly turning into a holiday expert witness might jack in my job and and fight everyones corner for them!!!(i usualy just book a holiday and go no probs! not this time !:mad:0

Aldi Travel is operated by the On Holiday Group who also operate Fresh Holidays. Sorry to hear you've had a bad experience; airlines do unfortunately often change their schedules, it's not Aldi Travel who have made the change as they do not charter their own aircraft.
If you want to e-mail your booking reference to me I can try and help.
Thanks

You may want to reconsider posting your email address "in the clear" on a public forum. The email harvesters will be around very soon and you may start receiving more spam than you really want.Aldi Travel is operated by the On Holiday Group who also operate Fresh Holidays. seems thats what they've done as each flight number is different had it been the same flight just running eaerly or late would the f.number not stay the same????? think we're stoopid these people don't they!0 -

thanks rebecca, will email you ref no.
as badgerface mentioned its a completely different flight number so different flight altogether.......we can't get information from anyone to point is in the right direction from onholidaygroup which is why we have this issue
we paid extra for the best flight times and are now out of pocket and stuck with silly flight times we can't book transfers as we don't know when we're going to get there
no one is telling us anything or answering our queries0
