    good thought that calley,
i dont mind moving every month that sounds like a really really good idea to me.
its just weather housing benefit can cope with the constant moving especially if you are moveing into diferent districts all the time

i love travelling and being able to go any wherewill be great as there is some stunning areas of the country
i have no ties to keep me permanant, and this island isn't that big.

If you keep moving around the districts and the country then how will you find and keep a long term job?

Not everybody wants a long term job. Lots of short term jobs suits some people better.

The point of moving around is to find a job though ... once found you don't need to move around and can then look at the options again.

I've bought a new car on the basis that I could go off camping/moving if I HAD to as there's room to kip down in the boot. .... not got the b4lls to tow a caravan or I'd do that myself.

Also, one can move between sites, but still be in the same 10-20-30 mile radius area. Moving doesn't mean 50 miles for the OP, moving might just be to the next site down the road.

I think you'll find a lot of single people will be doing this and living in cars/vans/caravans ... just to be mobile to look for work. Or because rents are too high.

Renting flats etc on an AST is long-winded, problematical - and then you're tied in for 6-months.... not easy to feel 'flexible'.

OP has said "i dont mind moving every month that sounds like a really really good idea to me.

Don't mind if it's long term or short term work - as long as he does intend to find a job because I don't really think someone should be able to claim housing allowance for a caravan (and that is what the OP was asking about) to support a life of travelling around as a "free spirit".

By all means have that lifestyle but taxpayers shouldn't have to fund it.

Apologies of I've got the wrong end of the stick.

You haven't. Most seaside towns are full of people like the OP, having a holiday by the sea on the dole.

He's on JSA I believe, so his housing situation is completely seperate to his Job Seeking situation.

It's not for anyones business as to what kind of work he is after, the fact remains whether he was in a caravan or a house, he would still be a Jobseeker.

Or is it still OK to discriminate against travellers?
All over the place, from the popular culture to the propaganda system, there is constant pressure to make people feel that they are helpless, that the only role they can have is to ratify decisions and to consume.

When did the OP claim he was a "traveller" a.k.a. a Roma, Sinti or a Gypsy?

There is a world of difference between being "travelling people" and "taking an extended holiday on the dole" :)
