Are you the person who is claming benifits but working on a farm?0

The OP made clear in an earlier post that he did a bit of voluntary work for his friend amounting to no more than a couple of hours a month.0

thanks jowo
i will go to the local housing tomorrow and explain the situation to them, and see how we go, hopefully i wont be evicted in my absence0 -
Shelter might be your best bet for a civilised response, given the fact that the previous posters are not complying with forum rules to be nice and to stick to answering benefit queries.
I *think* that some mooring fees for canal boats can be paid by Local Housing Allowance but I don't know the position on this. Or you could check with your local council who process the claims for LHA.
There is some info on this for mobile homes but I don't know if a caravan is classed as this

I doubt it, you will be "of no fixed abode" in a caravan. No address. No letter box.0

I'd expect not. A mobile home owner has a lease and is permanently connected to services. A caravan is a touring caravan, behind a car, pitched on a campsite.

a caravan is an address. Plenty of people live in them.PasturesNew wrote: »I doubt it, you will be "of no fixed abode" in a caravan. No address. No letter box.0 -
a caravan can be conected to mains services as i am now, i also have the ability to be mobile.
i also have a care off adress for my mail which the jsa are happy with the situation. its i dont pay rent here, and will obviously need to where i go, it will be very difficult with no benifit, and impossible once my savings are gone.0 -
I think Pasture's new has a point about the distinction between a mobile home and caravan becasue the mobile home can be classed as a residential address in its own right, is perhaps subject to council tax and the plot is leased on a long-term basis on a residential site versus a touring caravan on a tourist site which isn't supposed to offer residential accommodation, just visitors.
I doubt the provision of energy and water supplies to a touring caravan and your care of address will influence this. Call Shelter asap about your homelessness and housing options.0 -
I have feeling that if it is a proper caravan club site even if open all year you are not suppose to stay more 28 days at a time.
I am not sure how it works for private ones. But have a feeling that it is the same due to council tax rules.
Something you might want to check out as well.
