Hello everyone a010.gif. Welcome to the weekly spend challenge. This challenge is open to anybody, no matter what financial place they are in.

On this thread please post an amount of money you wish to stay below within the week (Sunday to end of working day on Friday). This can be pennies or thousands it depends on the individual. Then next Saturday report back and pledge for the following week. Feel free to update this thread with daily spends if that keeps you on track. We colour code the results as below:

Green - within budget
Red - overbudget
Purple - zero spend
Yellow - made money over the week

This is a little bit of fun but for many it highlights the fact that maybe that magazine/chocolate bar isn't needed. Hopefully your spending habits can be changed forever. clapping.gif

Moozie was the founder of this challenge and here is a quote taken from her around last year

The challenge is about incidental spending and not for stuff that should be budgeted elsewhere such as bills, groceries, debt repayment etc but you decide what to include at the end - this is about changing your habits and improving your recording of your spends more than anything else. Have a great week everyone and keep it low!!! Moozie x

Good luck everyone.action-smiley-033.gif

    Morning all

I am back from holiday sadly:( and have to go to work tomorrow (boo) but such is life. I am now counting down to the next one (only 7 weeks to go!)

Any way back on the budgeteering bandwagon for me. I have £4.50 in my purse and £20 in my spends account so my budget for this week is £24.50. This has to include dinner out on Tuesday night as I have theatre tickets (these have already been paid for) and I am meeting a friend before for dinner and a natter.

How is the little one getting on?

  • Morning Pointy

No change from my last posting on last weeks thread, so declaring £8.28 spends for the week, so I'm green!

So, this weeks pledge is £5.00 (I've put the odd pennies in the penny jar) left from last week plus £12.00 for this week, giving me £17.00 to last the week.

I've already bought a book on Amazon against this (couldn't get it at the library) which cost me £12.95 with postage, so I'm already down to £4.05 to last the week :o. It's going to be a hard week!

    Debt-free and Proud!
    Good morning everyone!

Pointy - please can you show me red for last week with a spend of £38 - although I went over budget, I'm actually quite chuffed as I had a couple of unexpected necessary spends, but managed to keep costs down and only just went over my pledge.

This week I have a couple of big days out plus a big food shop to do, so I'll pedge £100 - thanks Pointy.

Hope everyone is enjoying the fantastic weather - have a good week everyone!

    Evening all

The first post should be up to date let me know if I have missed anything.

I have £3 to report today on a coffee afterwork with a friend - it was £2.60 but 20p's go in the piggy bank (ok it is not a piggy it a penguin as you may have guessed :D)

Dinner out at a mussel restaurant tomorrow that should hopefully not be too expensive.

Saz well done on the school run, it can't be easy with 3 especially with a tiny one.
