Tesco, returning faulty goods!!!!

Because it is not Tescos responsibility to fix faults that the OP has caused with overuse or misuse - not saying that is whats wrong with it.....just that the OP may need to resort to commissioning a report to state whether the fault is inherent or not.
Judas was referring to it being more than 6 months from purchase date that the onus is on the customer to prove the fault was inherent and therefore tescos responsibility to fix.You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -

Why on earth would you think the OP has misused the camera because the USB lead is missing. You would never need to resort to engineers reports with a company like Tesco, when the product is still under guarantee.0 -

Well as Tesco are not going to fix it under the guarantee as not all the parts are with the item, the OP is going to have to rely on the Sales of Goods Act.
As it is over 6 months, they are going to have to prove it is an inherent fault.
Zandoni, i know you like to think the best of large companies, and have an aversion to SoGA, but sometimes is needed.0 -
Take it to another Tesco and tell them you want a refund, not a repair. Stick a cheap USB lead in with it and don't mention it. They'll probably still try and get out of it, but you haven't given them a reason to muck you around then.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll

If the OP takes it back again I'm sure Tesco will sort it out, I doubt any proof of inherent fault will be required.
Of course you have to rely on your knowledge of SOGA but I doubt it's needed here.0 -
Some time ago now but I bought an item from tesco, used it for the first time 17 days after purchase and it broke. I went to customer services and they refused a refund or replacement (wasn't repairable) on the grounds that it was after their 14 day returns period. I quoted chapter and verse of SOGA at them to no avail. Wrote to the store manager again quoting relevant sections of SOGA and they grudgingly gave me a voucher out of "goodwill". I wouldn't hold your breath about local staff having any working knowledge of the SOGA.0

There's no way I would put up with that, you need to see the store manager in the shop, customer services have no powers.0
