Extreme moneysaving - milk!

Options
Had this idea, don't know if it would work...
I would not use much milk if it weren't for the kids, hate it on cereals, have porridge with water, and only a tiny bit in cups of tea.
AH! The cup of tea. If you put milk into ice cube trays you could add one to your cuppa. I am going to try this just to see if it's ok, even though we probably use a large bottle of milk every day (2 litre?)

I put my un-used coconut milk/cream in icecube trays and then add straight from the freezer into sauces, it works really well, never thought of doing it for normal milk!

dont know if it would work, because i dont know how it would taste, but what about powdered milk?

i assume you can add water to this to make liquid milk  would this be an option  ?

Semi skimmed milk freezes fine and it does work in ice cube trays - even in ice cube bags too - I freeze 1 pint cartons all the time and when defrosted - just shake them first before opening them and they are just the same as fresh
Saving in my terramundi pot £2, £1 and 50p just for me! :j

how about then (to really get your moneys worth... buying full fat milk and watering down to make semi skimmed (if you dont already, queen of frugality you :p:D ) and then freeze that.

twice as much milk for your money, and if its only going in your tea, you probably wont taste the difference.

although again, i dont know if there would be separation issues...

Wouldn't putting ice cubes in your tea make a manky cupps, purely for the reason that it would cool you tea down really quickly?

I'd be interested to see how it works as I sometimes throw milk when it's not used up in time.

I use skimmed... would that make for even more savings if I watered down full fat? :p
