PC will not power on

Power supply unit went on my PC some months ago.
I took it to my local repair shop and they replaced the unit with a brand-new higher-spec one than the original and only charged me £30.
I know I could have done it myself, but I was not sure that it was the PSU that was faulty. I collected it 2 hours after dropping it in there and thought it was money well spent.
If you are not confident in what you are doing, probably best to have it done by someone else. Ring up a local repair shop and ask them for a quote for changing a PSU. If you decide to go there and it then turns out that that is not the problem, you probably wouldn't be able to fix it yourself anyway and you'd be taking it to them eventually.

Your starting point is to short out the CMOS and go from there. To do that the group need to know your exact motherboard model & type, if clearing the CMOS gives no positive solution the PSU is always the next predictable culpritDisclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion.
