Oh that's great news to hear!! Well done T&Co...0

Fantastic news, glad it worked out for you and you got service 'beyond the norm'.
I'd have thought the best they'd offer was a repair/replacement if you could return both the ring and diamond, but to do so with the diamond missing........ blimey!
Perhaps, I should start buying expensive rings and accidentally lose the diamonds?

I wouldn't risk it.. an £1800 ring is small fry for tiffany (obviously not for the OP) so they probably were glad to replace it to have the OP out of their hair. If it had been a more expensive ring (in tiffany's eyes) then I would imagine more questions would have been asked.

Maybe I'm just a cynic though

This sort of thing is why it is better to buy from brands like Tiffany's which often have a small premium built in for quality.0

Hey all... just reading this thread and the same thing has happed to me... but thank god we found the Diamond.. it was in my fianc!es hand bag... she was devastated!
Anywhoo.... just waiting for Tiffany to send the ring back to us after repair... its due this week. We had to send it to NewYork for repair.
They replaced the setting/band of the ring... and they've remounted the diamond... all this under warranty as I only bought it from them around Christmas.. it cost me just over £5k GBP0 -

Good result and exactly what they should have done. I bet you were the most relieved you have ever been when the diamond turned up
