Putting it back in case it's useful for someone else.
If you are within your warranty period, why not use Toshiba Support?
Also , consider extending your Toshiba warranty by another two years. The cost is around £35+VAT. You can decide as it is whether it is worth it to you.
Of course none of this is applicable if you bought the Netbook from the PC World group.....0 -
Will that work with XP?
Don't know. I never used this tool myself. Just try it out.No, it won't. It only works with Windows Starter Edition.
Where did you get this information from? Can't find it here

Call Toshiba anyway. They may still help you if it's a simple fix over the telephone.0 -

Have followed the instructions in the .pdf handbook...pressing '0' key whilst powering on the computer.0

yep, pressing 0 like there is no tomorrow. but it goes straight to safe mode etc page and the eternal loop continues.
however i have a memory stick and an windows xp original system on a disk complete with key code.
can i transfer this and try to boot up from the stick. but am wary because i dont want to wipe out anything on my destop computer.
cheers

If you really want to tackle this yourself, you can create a system rescue USB drive. This will include AntiMalware solutions that you can run from the drive in order to repair the Netbook.
Will prepare some links for you.0 -

Unfortunatly NO. This is really not what you want to do, it does not meet your requirement. First it will not boot off a USB device because by default USB is not a self booting medium as it is it needs modifying first and second if you did this It might wipe all your data.0
