[*]Hi there! This is the Old Style Daily Thread for Sat 26th June. It is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
[*]As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
[*]When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
[*]Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good

Morning. Another glorious day here. Its going to be a hot weekend apparently. I am working:mad: So no fishing and no other stuff....

Finished at 0130 last night and slept a bit before getting up again for work... but need to get to court to see a job through..

I think funerals are a real rip off after organizing my uncles yesterday. Although there is a family plot (bought for £18 in 1974) we still have to pay the council £458 plus vat to dig the hole!!!! I would do it for a lot less with a pick and shovel. Anyway just an observation although no one is complaining.

Well. time for coffee. Have a nice day....

Cloudy and overcast here this morning. Had a productive day yesterday, managed to get the housework done, stripped and washed boys bedding, got the ironing done up to date (but overnight the washing basket is full again, how does that happen?!). Did the food shopping, menu planned and today I plan to do some cooking/baking, hopefully before it get's too hot. Will be making a fruit tealoaf to take to OH's grandad; as the family that had arrived and stayed before, during and after nan's funeral have all gone home, think this may be a difficult time for him, so will be keeping an eye on him. Will be popping over there tomorrow morning. Will also be making, Twinks, Choc chip cookies and Caramel finger slices. Have the ingredients organised for the paella, OH will be cooking that later. The items on ebay are getting some interest so will need to wait and see what happens.

DS2 wanted to get up at 5.30am, that's way too early so I sent him back to bed! Will be heading for the shower in a mo, then will crack on with the cooking before it gets too hot.

    Have a great weekend everyone.

Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

    Good morning,

The House Elf and I are back from Center Parcs. I have no kitchen anymore, just a room with bare walls (some down to the brick), and a concrete floor. I'll put a picture on this evening if I think on.

The house is full of dust (grumpy's feet were making footprints in the dust on the living room carpet yesterday), so a lot of cleaning to be done. I shall mostly be microwaving food until the end of July I reckon. I had a good cry yesterday, then just started cleaning. Within 2 hours of arriving back from holiday I had washed the kettle twice (the builders borrowed it), hoovered downstairs, mopped both bathroom floors and cleaned the bathrooms so we can now use them without trailing dust everywhere.

Todays job is to strip our beds, and wash all of the bedding, then go to Asda - there's nothing except milk in the fridge....

    Take care all of you

Morning all - another bright, sunny but windy day. Almost perfect in fact.

Am having my hair cut this morning then going to see about getting floor to ceiling wardrobes built in the bedroom. I hate the big gap which gathers both dust and junk!

Got some lovely little carrots reduced the other day and still enjoying the soup I made with them. Sometimes my just 'chucking things together' works well. I've found some bacon pieces in the freezer, chopped them up, fried them crispy and added to the soup. Got lunch for days from it all.

Hope all is well with everyone.

    Morning all,

Glorious day here again :T I am loving the weather at the moment, I need to buy a new hose over the weekend ours has had it, so will go and price up.

OH is at work today and maybe tomorrow, bit of extra money, his mot and insurance are due next month, so this should hopefully cover both.

DD is still in bed, will give her another hour and then get her up, she need to do some study, she has chemistry and physics exams on monday, I think we will have the morning at home, then nip into town, dd needs sandals for school (apparantly sandals are cool now :rotfl:) and I have seen some lovely shoes in next :D

I will go and sand the walls down in the spare room, dont know if I will get round to painting today, might get a coat on there if im lucky, will see how hot it gets.

Dinner tonight will be meatballs, not sure what time OH will be home, so will plate his up and zap it when he gets in.

First wash of the day is in the wm, two more to follow. Need to swish and swipe through, but not doing too much today its too hot ;)

    Have good days all xx

    Morning :hello:

Mogs was squawking her head off this morning while staring at the fence, and the other girls were all staring at the same spot. Pinky Chick had managed to do a runner over a 6' fence. How did she manage that? Mr tru rescued her and Mogs immediately fell silent. I'm sure Mogs thinks she's their mum :D She alerts us to all their wrong-doings.

I told mr tru that I'd rinsed my hair with vinegar, he said "urgh, how could you put it on your HAIR?". I said "well, you put it in your stomach". He said "ummmmmmmm, errrrrrrrrrr, well, yes".

I'm going to do my zumba dvd then some gardening before it gets too hot.

Might have a couple of mojitos later :D

Beautiful day again, very very hot so must remember the factor 40 (im very fair). Had a lovely lie-in,daugher must of been tired!
First load of washing in,going to take full advantage of the weather and fill the line. Need to dig up potatoes ready for dinner later, boiled ham with new potatoes, salad and HM coleslaw yummy :)

Need to pop to town later for bits just milk and bread, i usually go to my local shop (like spar) but i have the biggest crush on a guy that works there and yesterday when he tried making conversation i turned into a stuttering, blushing fool :rotfl: so may have to avoid for a few days...oh dear, wont be getting a date anytime soon!!

Got a new phone yesterday so waiting for that to switch at lunchtime and then i can figure it all out. Which means this evening i can sell online and make some cash! (i actually have 3 handsets to sell)

Going to snuggle down with a film (lovefilm just sent one),wine and nibbles tonight cant wait to chill out!

Have a wonderful day everyone :D

    mornin'
I had thought I might get a lie in this am cos DD2&3 cycling cancelled, but then DD1 reminded me that she needed to be at the train station in Chi for 7.10 aaaaargh! Need to collect friend so that meant an early start. However the sun was shining and birds singing and there was no traffic so all good. DD1 is doing another practice walk for her D of E they were soooo rubbish at map reading that the tutors postponed the walk untill Oct cos they needed all the practice they could get and it was the only time they could book campsites. I think it's a bit mean making them camp out in Oct but Sir Hilary survived at the North Pole!!!! lol
I came home and set to with the baking it's a very pleasurable experience with the windows wide open cool breeze ( note to self remember not to seive flour infront of open window) Choc brownies, Choc beetroot cake and menorcan fiesta bread.:T
I have tried using vinegar in the rinse cycle of my washing and have got good results will be using this from now on just tryingto persuade the girls to let me rinse their hair to finish off all the little visitors once and for all , 3 day conditioning and combing is a night mare!! long thick hair nightmare!!

DH home this weekend so we are having a BBQ and hopefully neighbours will pop over.

Must remove net off the corn / veg as its getting squshed will have to devise another trick to keep the cats off. Strawberries have been fantastic and still ahve loads more to come, that is if the Girls dont keep helping themselves!!!!!:rotfl:
Big Hugs and wishes to all

    Morning.
Looks to be a hot one again here so perfect excuse not to do any housework :D
Its DD's birthday in 2 weeks time and I need to get her cake made (it's going to be Upsy Daisy) so need to get the icing etc for that sorted today.
H is at work for most of today so will be getting some errands done and playing with the kids.

Have told DS he can't go out in the garden if he's wearing jeans - so far he's not asked but he really needs to get some short on. He whinged about a short sleeved t-shirt but I had to put my foot down. I know it's probably linked to his ASD but he'll end up with heatstroke if I don't put my foot down

Tea tonight - hmmmmm well I had a lovely sausage salad at Cafe Rouge last night with my friend so might try and recreate something similar for tea here :D

Sorry not caught up with yesterday thread so hugs to those that need them.

Cranky - Hugs to you. The upheaval and mess WILL be worth it in the end xx

Tru - send a couple of mojito's my way ;)
