never done forecourt trader aioe before but am sure someone asked before, cant remember what the answer was to that one

sorry for saying:o but can we try and keep this thread to comps only, it does say on the first post to keep chat to a mininum, there are quite a lot of people who dont post on here and come in only for the comps, so its a lot to go through if there is a lot of chat, if it relates to a comp then thats fair enough, but anything else should really be discussed in the discussion thread

:o Sorry PPD, I just really riled by randomers appearing and criticising. I couldn't hold my tongue. I promise to be good from now on ;) :rotfl:

My comment was not a judgement but merely an observation, but you have misread comments by other people so I will let it pass.

So far as the purchase of magazines is concerned I doubt that people would really be spending so much money if they did not get some personal satisfaction out of doing the puzzles even if they weren't going to post them here. I used to buy several weekly mags, monthly mags and the sunday papers (and I mean almost all of the Sunday papers), the return on the competitions was pretty small (about a dozen prizes in 10 years) but I still enjoyed solving the puzzles, doing the crosswords and sending off the comps.

And yes, i do enter some of the comps posted on here though the vast majority that are posted I have already entered via other routes, I have also posted and thanked people. I don't get to say thanks to posters for my winnings very often because I don't win very much, but when I have won I have posted on the IwonIwon board and thanked the poster.

I really don't care about other peoples spending habits (except those politicians who are wasting my tax money, and there isn't much we can do about that).

And slagging people off for having an opinion which doesn't coincide with yours is just as offensive as you think other people's comments are.

Oh dear, what's gotten in people's bonnets recently??? Seems to be a lot more frequent that people are coming on here and undermining what people do, that, and offending!!!

?? So what? I already know I have an obsessive disorder, but according to those in the medical profession, it's actually a healthy thing compared to what I could (& previously have) experienced.

I realise it's no-ones business and normally I wouldn't tell all & sundry my personal issues, but I'm really rather angry that you have judged people on their own spending habits. Regardless of whether you believe it to be good or not, people have the right to spend how they want, and people come on here & share with 100s of people the competitions they find which I guess you probably enter!!! People do it to share & because they feel they are putting something back into it, some people don't like taking and not contributing!!!!!

I would like to add, that I'm also referring to people here that spend unnecessary money on magazines & newspapers to post, which is spending money they wouldn't ordinarily spend. There is no difference in scenarios!!

    2025 Comps 7127: wins 5: value £1402
    2024 Comps 13526: wins 13: value £1475

You accused people of having an obsessive disorder if they chose to spend money on competitions. That is not an opinion, simply an insult.

I don't get satisfaction of doing the puzzles in some mags, in fact I, more than often not, really dislike them. 90% of the mags I buy don't have puzzles in anyway & I don't even read half of them, the only 'personal satisfaction' I get is that I give others the opportunity to enter competitions that they would not, ordinarily, be able to enter!

    EDIT: Sorry PPD :o
