Oh dear, what's gotten in people's bonnets recently??? Seems to be a lot more frequent that people are coming on here and undermining what people do, that, and offending!!!

Anyone who goes out to buy products or services that they would not normally purchase, or even use, simply to enter a competition should seek advice as this behaviour suggests a step beyond comping as a hobby and may be an indicator of an obsessive disorder in the same manner as shopahlics and compulsive gambling.

In the case of a product which someone would be likely to purchase anyway the actual cost of entering the competition is not the price of the goods/service but the cost of the entry method, text, stamps etc.

In the 80's, before the magical world of the internet, I used to be part of an informal group of compers who exchanged the type of info that is on this forum, the consensus was that you don't buy things to enter comps unless it is something that you want/need anyway.

There is a valid argument for a thread here as many people would like to know about promotions and quite often the purchase may simply mean changing from one brand to another one week or month. In this way the purchase price of the goods would not constitute any cost of entry to the competition as it would be a cost that would be borne regardless of the exisence of the competition.

?? So what? I already know I have an obsessive disorder, but according to those in the medical profession, it's actually a healthy thing compared to what I could (& previously have) experienced.

I realise it's no-ones business and normally I wouldn't tell all & sundry my personal issues, but I'm really rather angry that you have judged people on their own spending habits. Regardless of whether you believe it to be good or not, people have the right to spend how they want, and people come on here & share with 100s of people the competitions they find which I guess you probably enter!!! People do it to share & because they feel they are putting something back into it, some people don't like taking and not contributing!!!!!

I would like to add, that I'm also referring to people here that spend unnecessary money on magazines & newspapers to post, which is spending money they wouldn't ordinarily spend. There is no difference in scenarios!!

!!!!!!, I thought this was a free competition board, The thing is becoming inundated with 1.50 a minute competition advertisements. If I want to see them I just have to turn on the TV.

This is supposed to be a money saving site guys, lets keep it real and stop putting these 1.50 a minute so called competitions on it.

Just don't enter them, ignore them, go to the main board, leave those who CHOOSE to enter them & share what they find and pass without comment, downright rude. Simples!!.

Oh, and, !!!!!! maybe an abbreviation, but it's still offensive IMO!!

what i can't understand is that if you go to the profiles of these people that 'pop' in here & make comments you can see which posts they've thanked & none of them have thanked in this thread at all (or some of the other ones they visit & take the comps) , so why do they come in here ? seems a bit rude to me entering comps peeps have spent time typing out & finding answers/making sure t&c's are correct/buying the mags etc for them to enter when they don't even have the decency to press the thanks button,
even if they've not entered them it's still IMO to comment at all if all they want to do is take the comps & insult ops who take thier time to put them on for everyone :(
please be a responsible pet owner & spay/neuter your pets, too many strays & not enough homes for them sadly. k2u58ioz4c8e.png
