Easy jet - problems

Hi, i was wondering if anyone had any success with Easyjet?
I booked a holiday to north africa with them in Feb and was die to fly in May. I paid via CC.
I booked put the passenger details in for myself (uk passport) and my partner (non eu passport) - easy jet asked for this info.
All booked, went to the airport, and they said my partner cant fly cause no visa. I asked why you didnt prompt this when i booked and you asked for the details, and i was told its not down to us its up to you to check. I stated that when i book with ryanair or another other airline it prompts and suggests you best check. so the Easyjet one is not so customer friendly.
they said there was nothing they can do tough basically.
my friend has a similar problem flying to india and BA said not a problem we will change your flights foc. Wow what service.
Is there anything i can do? i know i guess its sorta my fault but shouldn't they have a duty of care to the customer? i feel like i have been robbed.
i cant claim back via Cc cause it was more than 120 days.
i have emailed c vrieswijk (ops director) who passed it onto the head of customer service and he basically said ' tough' and he said that no further correspondence will be entered into. hardly a 'customer experience'

Your partner didn't have a valid visa for the country that the flight was going to, so they refused you. It'll be contained within the T&C's that you must have valid travel documentation for the destination that you wish to visit, otherwise boarding will be denied.
Can I ask what you thought would happen after landing at the North African country in question without a visa for him? From Poland...with love.
They are (they're) sitting on the floor.
Their books are lying on the floor.

It is a passenger obligation to obtain visas and passports for entry, not the airline's. easyJet takes a tough line because it would cost them too much in the long term.
Did you read easyJet's conditions of carriage?Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -

i know but who actually reads them?? why do lots of other airlines help and prompt you but easyjet doesnt? doesnt seem fair0 -
easyJet may have been advised not to do so to avoid the risk of claims from the small risk of false advice.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

Anyone travelling to another country should have the sense to check the visa requirements for that country well in advance, especially if their partner has a different passport to their own. easyJet have done nothing wrong here at all.
Next year, I'm going to visit 8 countries in South East Asia for a few weeks. I wouldn't just book the flights and then assume the airline would tell me I need a visa, I'd check it out myself. All the info is available on the internet.0
