Try this.
Remove the smartcard & wipe it with a clean lint free cloth then put it back in.
Turn off the power to the box.Press & hold the back up button on the front while still holding back up.Keep holding it until the traffic lights on the front of the box light up.
After about 10 minutes, the lights & the message on TV will go out.Wait about a minute & turn it back on.
That should sort it.
Tried that, it didn't work. I can get the Sky programmes but not the Sky+ functions. I suppose I will have to ring Sky and get them to do a rebuild over the phone as I can't seem to do it myself. I had a lot of recorded programmes to watch as I have been away.
Thanks everyone for all the advice.0 -
I think there was a program posted on here recently where you could hook your Sky+ box hard disk up to your PC and back it up (not watch it on your PC, still had to restore to a working Sky+ box to watch them).
obv pulling the box apart is likely to void the warranty (which its probably out of by now too).
might get around losing the content if you get a new box tho0 -

Thanks, I just had a look at this - not sure I have the courage to do it but will see what my husband thinks tonight. I might have a go if I can work out how to connect the drives.0
