Mobile Phone Bill
At Christmas my g/f got me an iphone as a surprise, i had a phone on vodafone so i sold the phone and put the simcard in my wallet..... every month the vodafone bill was paid as normal but last i got my online bill which was £2500.. i then noticed that the simcard wasnt in my wallet and rang vodafone to bar the sim... they said that is had been used for the past 10 days to call Iraq..... and that i would be liable for all the calls made..... i rang the police and reported the card as lost and spent a few weeks trying to get vodafone to waver the costs..
All i got was your liable and its as simple as that, so i contacted the ombudsman and they said the exact same thing.... so currently im paying £75 a month to pay back the £2500.
Anyone got any ideas.

Unfortunately the T&C's say that you are liable for all calls made until you report the the phone/sim lost stolen (to prevent abuse).
If you won't do you a goodwill gesture all you can do is arrange a payment plan with them to spread it over a number of months. . .0 -
You are stuck - the sim card being lost needs to be reported asap otherwise you end up footing the bill.0

Do what Jon 01 says, try making a formal complaint and maybe out of goodwill they can reduce the cost to you. Mention its a burden and unfair really on you even if it was your fault in not noting sim was lost earlier.0

There is nothing to complain about why should Vodafone take the hit.
Its in the T & C's that the customer is responsible for all calls until the SIM is reported.
Networks are not mind readers and they cannot know the SIM is lost until it is reported. The customer could be trying to pull a fast one and get the money returned when they have made the calls.0 -
Have to agree with others this was on tv a few weeks back some guy having same problems it all depends on when you notifed them as you liable before hand0
