Maybe I didn't explain it very well - 'all other routes' in this case means you are not going to London and you are not going to Southend. (and not doing a complete u-turn - it assumes you know where you have come from)
Where did the other vehicle actually come from?
dzug1, may well be me rather than your explanation!;)
If you look at the link sunshinetours has provided - http://www.essexcc.gov.uk/vip8/ecc/E...hannelOid=null
she came from the bottom of the diagram, on the second lane across, which in the plan shows it can be used as left and straight ahead, and indicated and turned left. He hasn't said what lane he started from, but given he hit her passenger door side - on, I can only assume he came from the left slip lane and tried to cut over - he forced her up the hill towards the A127 when apparently he was trying to go straight over...?!0 -
I also know this roundabout well.
I think the slip road encourages drivers to drive quite fast because they don't have to slow down for vehicles approaching from the right like you would have to if it were a standard roundabout.
Where did he hit your sister? In lane two (right hand lane of the slip road?) If so then he's pulled over too soon on the slip road IMO. ie: he becomes the one pulling out."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0 -

Hi pimento, she was facing up towards the A127 when he hit her, and pushed her into the kerb going up the hill, so at the point of impact she was already clear of the roundabout. On that basis it makes me think he must have cut over from lane 1 into the path of lane 2, and what I can't understand is how he was going straight ahead from there!0
