My son Cannot Pay his fine as he is on JSA

Wouldn't it be possible for you to pay the fine and he pay you back? He must be on at least £50 a week on JSA so he could pay you back within 2 weeks.
After the fine is out of the way, he needs talking to because he's on a slippery slope.Trying to spread calmness, understanding and optimism on MSE

Having read the OPs responses on the other thread pointed out, i think it is fair to say where the son gets his 'p!key ways' from.Dear God, what a charming person lusamoel appears to be in that thread.
Apples never fall far from the tree.
So tell him to get off his !!!!! and get a job.B4 i start i hope this is in the right place on the forums,
Hi guys my son like the stupid idiot he is
got a fine the other day for stealing. He lives with us and pays a little towards his keep.
The fine was for either £60 or £80 but either way he was told he cannot pay installments, although he cannot afford it out right.
They said he has to miss a payment and the the fine will go up to £120 and only then can he pay in installments.
This really doesnt make sense to me and think this is really unfair,
I will be contacting the cit adv beu to see if anything can be done.
Can anyone confirm this?
thnx,.
He will kill 2 birds with one stone then.
1. Won't need to be a thieving scrote, as he will have some money to actually pay for things.
2. He will have the money to pay his fine.
If he doesn't get a job, let him lose the money he scrounges from the state every fortnight to pay the fine.0 -

For once (an I'm sure it won't happen often) I agree with Woody

Yikes! Please reveal your trading name so that when I have kids we can avoid you. I like how the OP says the theft is "silly". Theft is "silly" as much as the Titanic had an "oopsie -daisy".
With regards to the nice car though, if you read up the thread a little I think the 18 year old is supposedly referring to one of their students. Not entirely sure though because lusamoel doesn't make sense in 90% of what they say.
Your son is on JSA. He gets x amount of money every week. He can afford it, he'll just have to cancel a few nights out...you know...make some sacrifices. Be a good parent and let him see the results of his theft.
I think you're right about the 18 year old - teach me to read things properly!0 -
now this is a case of where i would like to see community service in leiu of a fine , he should have to work to pay off the money not get it paid for by mum and dad or by the state

Im agreeing with the other posters, you shouldnt be trying to sort this out, let yur son deal with since he did the crime, if you bail him out this once then you may well find yourself bailing him out the next time and the time after that.0

Well if he doesnt pay the fine he'll end up back in Court and may well end up doing both. 100hrs in an orange bib cleaning graffiti in the town centre & a £200 fine + Court costs

Ooh, I was right!
I was getting the bus the other day with my daughter and saw 5 lads jump out of a van with a bloke and they started lopping a tree.
They all put orange bib jackets on and I said to my daughter that I thought they were doing community service!Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
Oh yeh Agree with most of you who say he should sort it out.
But as he is my son then i thought it my duty to help him a little,
Not too much though as this is like u say his problem.
Not quite sure what the thread of the vectra is to do with this all?
PROC whats that thread goto do with this?
Very sad person looking and revamping old posts to try and make you look clever?:T
Maybee thoes who quoted needs to read all the threads on there,
he hasnt got a car.
Anyways moving forward.
He is waiting to go in to the army in about 4 weeks. He just did like i said something Stupid and even he said that, so dont need everyone to tell me it.
He cannot pay in one lump sum as he pays us B&L.
So like santacruz said

7891368I'd get kicked out if I'd committed a willing criminal offence, my Mum would not be posting on a forum asking for people to help
We can tell she cares.0 -
I agree that the son should pay the fine himself. I also think that the OP should still insist that he pays the small amount of board that he usually pays. This way, the OP won't be out of pocket and paying the fine will have more of an impact on the son. Hopefully, it will teach him to keep his hands off other people's property in future.0
