Public toilets...

  • Having worked in many a cafe before, I think you should have mentioned it to them -if nothing else but to stop the next customer having the same problem.

There are only so many times the loos can be checked and lots of people to "borrow" extra loo roll so it can be very hard to keep track of.

I think a couple of people i nthis thread are kind of missing a thread where I said I was rushing for my bus? Not really, a customers job so miss her bus and wait around an hour to help a company that should have this under control anyway. I was thinking of an Email to the company in a polite friendly "just letting you know" tone rather than complaint and hope that it gets fed back to the store

Andrex sell a mini-sized toilet roll that fits in your handbag:

You can get them in supermarkets, in the main toilet roll aisle. I carry one - just in case!

But you just had to mention it on the way out, I can't see that taking an hour. Then you've done your bit and can go on your way. If no one tells them, they're not going to know until they either check them, or use them themselves.

I try not to use public toilets unless I really have to as they're are usually in such a state. I think it's down to the users more than the cleaners and I have to say as a female, how disgusting some peoples habits are. Even where I work which is lovely, all new and cleaned at least twice a day you will find empty toilet rolls where people are too lazy to put them in the bin and that's probably the nicest habit I come across! I'd hate to see the state of their bathroom at home!

Places are sometimes staffed by kids who couldnt give a t$ss.

you should have let the staff know.

I once emailed cafe nero to praise the staff in a particular branch as it was a busy saturday in a popular area and they were working incredibly hard. I got a reply. works both ways.
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

I was skimming the thread and misread the last word of this post as cheeks.
Well, i misread the bit about the "lovely sit in the sun". I wondered why the toilet didn't have a roof.

In my local Homebase the toilets were horrif and I told a member of staff. she said " there's not in use". I asked why there wasn't a sign puton the door and she answered that they were going to be cleaned.

This happened a couple of years ago. I'm sorry to say that I didn't say anything more at the time. Now that I'm retired my alter ego (Sophia from the Golden Girls ) would have taken over the conversation.

They had one of those mini Andrex rolls on the reduced shelf in my local Sainsburys, just the roll not the hand cleanser, and it was 45p - for 55 sheets of loo roll . Just make your own by unwinding some off a normal roll and keep it in a plastic bag.
    :D I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe :D
