That happened to me in Asda when I was with Nationwide, when I contacted Nationwide they blamed it on their computer system, only ever happened once though.

Sounds like a computer glitch confused, I've had that before with different cards.

    afternoon all

I have had a cashminder card since November and have shopped instore in Tesco using my card as payment regularly with no problem.

Today, my card was refused instore despite there being funds in my account  i walked outside, took the cash out of the same account, and went back instore to pay for it. Embarassing!

I have no idea why the card was declined, but i will make sure i always carry enough cash in case it is refused in the future.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I've had that happen a couple of weeks ago, co-op said my transaction hadn't even hit their system, so it was a tesco fault.
