vent Blxxdy football

Options
I have just spoken to my other half to see what time he will be home as we are going out this evening. He is a HGV driver, he turned up to do his delivery to be informed that the warehouse are watching the football and he will have to wait to be unloaded and then reloaded. These are the containers that go on to the boats to go abroad. which means that he won't get home this evening as he will run out of time.:(
He loves football, but had to go to work so now he is sit in a very hot motor listening to it on the radio. ( Can't go into the warehouse health and safety )
Is this why the country is in the state that it's in? (God I sound like my nan)
The fixtures are published way in advance so if they are going to stop for the football surely they should not have arranged deliveries for that time.
Just hope they don't follow there lead down at A & E:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

That's a pretty poor show by the warehouse. You would have hoped that one or 2 of them would be not interested / foreign etc and not watching the game.

    It's once every 4 years.

So what if he's home late just this once. I'm sure you'll both survive.

Unfortunately the economic health of this country won't.

Im sorry you will miss your evening out
I agree that everyone knew when the matches were so they should have re scheduled him
Bet his company are chuffed to be paying him to sit for probably 2 hours being unproductive.

We had staff ring in sick today(we know that they are at a footie BBQ through a customer letting the cat out of the bag)
It has caused immense pressure on the remaining staff and fractured the team spirit.
We are all sweltering it out on 1st day of sale and they are having some R&R ...team players ? no :(
"Very funny, Scotty. Now beam down my clothes."

All truth goes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Then, it is violently opposed. Finally, it is accepted as self-evident.

He won't just be late home he will not get home now until Saturday.
We do not get to spend that many evenings together due to his work ( long distance lorry driver), we had arranged a special evening together but due to other peoples selfish behaviour thats all gone to pot.

I suppose that yes we will survive unlike the warehouse staff if they missed the football.

hope his firm make the warehouse pay for wrecking his schedule, and presumably his following day's work and incurring night out expenses.

The fans would soon moan if shops ran out of crisps, burger buns and lager due to lorries not being unloaded. ;)

I am glad to hear that I am not the only one fed up with Football mania! My kid's school sent a letter round informing parents that they would NOT be closing early due to the football, as if this was even on the cards. If they had closed early I would have been really cross. it is football - not 9/11!
People need to get some perspective. remember that violence against women increases by 40% (!) when England loses at the football - what dos that say about the society we live in...

I don't understand why he couldn't be allowed into the warehouse though - surely if he loads and unloads he has to enter the warehouse at some stage? Did your hubbie ring his company to tell them what was happening so that they could ring the company and tell them to let him do his job?
  • I've decided that, when I next go to a gig/something else that I'm interested in, Im going to endlessly mindlessly talk about it, finish work early and expect that to be fine, put a flag up supporting whatever it is outside my house and then cry and rant when what I want to happen doesn't go my way.........flippin football!!lol.
