Why are private sellers allowed to get away with this?

Failed to register as a business and undercutting the business sellers by miles. Winds me up rotten they get away with it with such a large amount of stock. Do ebay do anything when you report these people?
It bothers me because these sellers don't have to comply to the same rules as businesses, DSR's etc.
I don't sell books but i've seen it in my own catergories doesn't seem right that ebay are targetting second hand sellers and not bothering with these types.

Even if ebay don't take notice, HMRC will, as will Trading Standards if you notify them.
At least their postage is reasonable (although, has to be with books), a regular keeps pooping up in our category trying to sell their collection of trading cards... for 99p with £150 P+P.Back on MSE after a 5 year hiatus.

They are drop shipping from the book People and even using the Book people's photos.

What motives would those be then? is the seller you?
It certainly isn't me as i'm not stupid enough to buy and sell books from the book people let alone use their images but thanks for your concern
I'm also a registered business, what annoys me is the not registering if those of us playing by the book have to deal with book keeping, self assesment etc it's not fair (stamps feet)

Well I have thanked you for posting the link and i have reported them and I've also spoken to The Book people who are aware of more thna one users who they continually contact ebay about and who just pop up again with a different name.

On the other hand have you seen what happens when a naive or dodgy seller gets posted about on MSE? Thing is just because they are'nt registered on ebay as a business does'nt mean they are'nt with HMRC so you could end up reporting to both and still have nothing happen as obviously HMRC won't care if they are legit and Ebay don't respond to reports from other ebayers since they got their own software as there were too many people just reporting people they did'nt like.Did you know you can get Viagra software now??? Yeah, it turns your floppy drive into a hard drive
