Thanks aureol, it sounds a good idea but I think I might wait for DD to come and try that - I'm alright wiping and shaking cartridges but cleaning out the hole in the printer is delving into the realms of 'technical' for me .
Also, I'm a bit worried about my reputation with all the cursing and now the alcohol - it might give people the wrong impression of me.
Apart from cursing another thing that might help..hitting it with a big stick...remember Basil Fawlty and the car????:D0 -
Hi there,
my Canon printer does the same thing with Tesco compatibles - with Canon if you hold down the stop/reset button for 5 seconds - it ''recognises'' the ink - there is probably a similar tweak for yours - maybe google Epson compatible will find the answer.Morning All,
How gutted am I!! Going to the Trafford Centre later, thought "Hey, I know, I'll print some restaurant vouchers off, treat DD to lunch and do some shopping on the way back with some of the MOC that are on the first page" Three print cartridges showing as almost empty so I changed them. The printers telling me that two of the ones I changed still need changing  - but they are full!!
I've tried taking them out and putting them in again (several times) and switching printer off and rebooting PC (computer that is, not Princess Coupon). I even opened the lid and blew in the general direction of the cartridges, saying "that's it sorted then" hoping to fool the printer (Epson RX500) into thinking I knew what I was doing - but it won't play
.
Any suggestions please?
Perranlady - Sorry to hear your news, 34 years is a long time. Try to see it as an opportunity to try something else - I know it can be scary but sometimes it can open the doors you've never really thought about knocking on.

Had replaced one of our Epson SX200 - this is due to us using compatible cartridges!! to repair it cost £20 ( excluding any parts ) no guarantee that it will work. So we decided to get a new printer instead HP £39.97..
Epson from Tesco direct is selling 3 for the price of 2. That only cost us £19.44 for T0715 multipack offer ends 25/8/10.RIP my dear dear parent : Mum aged 62 (17/5/1990) & Dad aged 89 (23/1/2012)0 -

The Smirnoff one is still going strong - and more stock of that about than the Morgans and coke in my area.0 -
Went to T today with granddaughter and gtgranddaughter to use up some of the baby club vouchers from my mythical baby and double up reward vouchers.
Spent £87+ and started handing over coupons. Sun £5, 7 BC mocS and 2 doubleup ones and was told that was all she could take as they only take 10 coupons. I had forgotten this restriction but don't understand why you can't use their own BC coupons when you have bought enough of the items.
Stood my ground, supervisor came. She agreed to take the 6 cow+gate 342 food vouchers but wouldn't take any more of the BC coupons nor the other doubleup ones. More discussion, consultation with CS and they took the other doubleup ones - so success with final bill down to £16.
We were happy but the queue behind me weren't.
Glad I won't be making a visit there for sometime.0 -
Thanks - sorry to hear about the potential loss of your job
- wow 34 years. Some people where I work have done over 40. Would it be redundancy then with the potential for a bit of a payout?....

This is tough perranlady. My granddaughter's husband is in same position but only been with the co. 2 years so very little to come for him.
During my working life I was made redundant twice. A very unpleasant feeling. Luckily I eventually found a really good job after the first time - not only better pay but really interesting. Let's hope you are as lucky.0 -

I had the same till spit- however, I have T`s own goats milk, & the system didn`t recognise these, so I had to spend 10 mins in a CS queue......( made worse, as our T`s are doing the `double up` vouchers from the same place) Was prepared to stand my ground, but didn`t need to- got an apology, & my 75p  I have recently sent off an email though, complaining about the sheer number of times I haven`t been given `green` Clubcard points, despite flapping my bags around, & usually mentioning twice that I`ve got them . There`s no way I want to queue at CS to have them put on- as a result of my email, I was awarded....wait for it.......50 points!!!! Their bag recycling system doesn`t really work, methinks :mad:0
