    Hi sb44,

I've put glass in the freezer before with no probems....except when I put a bottle of wine in, forgot about it and it exploded because the wine expanded. :o We have an existing thread on this that may help:

glass - can it go in the freezer?

I'll add your thread to it later to keep the replies together.

    Thanks Pink.

I know that my husband sometimes puts bottles of beer in the freezer if he had forgotten to put them in the fridge. :D

They don't stay in there long though.

Although he has forgotten a couple of times and the have leaked and had frozen beer all down the sides!

Do the lids have to be metal or can I use plastic lids ie the Tesco Value peanut butter jars with plastic lids.

    I've used both.

I tend to buy pasta sauces and curry sauces when they are on special, use half the jar (since it's just my DH and myself) and freeze the rest in the jar. I've never had a problem but, then again, I've never tried freezer a full jar of something :)
