Can anyone tell me where to buy white vinegar? I had a look in the supermarket yesterday and couldn't find it. I had a look in the cleaning aisle and with other vinegars. Is it just the ordinary colorless vinegar?0
-
Yes it's white malt vinegar. I get mine from Tesco.Getting there... A deal at a time. :T0

Hi mumof4our,
You should be able to find it in most supermarkets but to get it cheaper in larger quantities try aisian supermarkets.

white vinegar & stardrops have now replaced all my cleaning stuff on next weeks shopping list apart from antibacterial spray for lo's high chair. Wasn't sure about the antibacterial-ness of stardrops/vinegar. Anyone know anything about this?0
-
I would think as long as the high chair is cleaned with hot water it should be fine. I'm sure vinegar is anti-bac too.0

i usually add a few drops of tea tree oil to my stardrops and water mix, as this is a natural anti-bacterial , HTH0

didn't know that about tea tree! cheers mandy_moo. will try that out instead of spray then for high chair0

I've never been too sure about anti-bacterial cleaning products. They may be doing more harm than good in a number of ways.
I don't use them, not even down the toilet. We've been fine without them. We do all the usual hygiene things like separate chopping boards, and I know that washing anything with soap/detergent is actually very good at picking up any bacteria and washing them away. Also, a regularly cleaned surface will be smooth, clean, and free of anything for bacteria to live in or feed on.
I clean almost everything with soda crystals and stardrops because they're cheap and work very well. No need for toilet cleaner, multi-purpose liquids, carpet and upholstery cleaner, hand wash liquid, window cleaner, kettle de-scaler (soda crystals are better), or washing up liquid. These two things do all of this. The only other thing I use in a normal week is washing powder for clothes.0 -

The bugs aren't going to appreciate the acidity of the vinegar, but I still have a normal disinfectant in my cleaning arsenal. Stardrops is only a soapless detergent. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0
