I know, but HFC are w***ers, I really hate them! I don't have enough on the Credit card to pay them off thou, only about £60 on it.
I got my Settlement figure in the post today for HFC 2 ~ £1759.54. I've also signed up to pigsback.
In other news. I'm feeling rotten today, my brother came down at the weekend from Manchester, but due to the floods it took him 18 hours and was only able to see me for one afternoon. I cooked him & my granma a roast, and we had a nice time, but when he went he left me with his chesty cough.
I am also not losing weight as fast as I want. I am 17 stone and I feel like a whale.
I've also still got a week til the end of the month when I can alter my debt total after the payments have come out. AND another whole month until I can pay off a loan.
Oh well, c'est la vie.

Hi x_raphael_xx
I know you only have about £60 left on your credit card.
You need to read post 75 and then Post 77 carefully, only this time you would use a cheque/s, sent to you from your credit card company, to pay off HFC 1 and a lump sum off HFC 2. That is assuming they will send cheque/s to you in the first place and that they will be at a balance transfer rate.
Ps. I will post you on your diet in the next couple of days, I too am trying to loose weight.0 -
I'm really sorry, I've re-read both posts, but it's confusing and at the moment I have a thumping headache!
Are you saying that what I should do is extend the limit on my credit card to cover a payment to HFC 1?
Or
Pay the £982.30 required to pay off HFC 1 onto card, then pay it straight back out again?
And surely paying with a cheque from my credit card is more expensive in interest (thou I'd have to check the %)
Annoyed today as well because I had a call from some company who said they could help me claim my bank charges back. When I told the gent I had already done it myself for FREE (via this site!) he congratulated me and hung up. Greedy bloodsucking barstewards.
I also worked out today I am 25 months away from my debt free date. Not sure if that makes me feel happy or depressed!Debt Free as of 17/01/2009 Turtle Power!!

The suggestion was to pay off the card then use a balance transfer to pay off the HFC loan. Assumptions behind that are that you'd get a lower balance transfer rate and that HFC would take payment from the card. Also that you have the money to pay off the card, which isn't correct - was assuming that you had cash for both HFC 1 and BOS and you don't have that much.
Your best plan still looks to be to pay off HFC 1 then see what you can get in the way of a card with a good balance transfer deal. The limit and rate on that card decides what's the best step after that, may be balance transfer once to clear current card, then normal spending on current card to free cash to pay off HFC 2 and then a second balance transfer from the current card. Or if the new card offers credit card cheques at balance transfer interest rate paying off HFC 2 with one of them would be best.
Good to see that much reduced settlement figure for HFC 2!0 -
Ok, so the plan of action is...
~ Pay off HFC 1 in September as planned.
~ Try to apply for a new Credit card, hopefully with low or 0% BT rate.
~ If this is possible, pay off HFC 2 & BoS from CC 2.

Hi x_raphael_xx
That sound like a good plan to me. Go for it.
Hi jamesdx_raphael_xx wrote: »This is probably what I'll do, drop the debt a little and then see. I want to clear at least 2 loans by Xmas. HFC 1 in September, and either Bos (as it will be very managable) or if the price is right I will see if I can get rid of HFC 2.
To pay off both the HFC 1 and BOS by Christmas would mean paying a total of £1,583.60. So that is were I was getting the money from.
If you pay £900, off one credit card and then transfer £900 to it from another credit card. The £900 on the first card is now at a BT rate but if a month later you pay £600 off that card and transfer another £600 to it, it will not increase the amount that is at a BT rate.
This is because of the way over payments are allocated. Any amount you pay over the minimum payment is first paid off the balance with the lowest interest rate and this should be the £900 that was transferred a month ago.
Therefore, in two months, you have transferred £1,500 but only £900 of that is at a BT rate. The only why I know to get round this, is to pay off £1,500 and to then do one balance transfer for £1,500. For x_raphael_xx that would be £1,583.60 in one go.0 -
I had a really carpy shift last night, one of my collegues had a go at me for no reason other than shes quit smoking and needed to take it out on someone, but she's always nasty to me and last night it really got to me.
When I finished at 6am this morning I had such an urge to drive up to Asda to spend money, I had nothing I desperately need but I wanted to buy something, ANYTHING!
As I was driving up there I was weighing it up in my head ~ spending for the hell of it and spoiling my NSD streak, or just resisting.
In the end I turned off down the duel carrageway, Meat Loaf blasting out the speakers. 20 minutes later I got home a little calmer and without spending any money! :DAll I used up was a little petrol.
I was feeling ill last night too (not helped by the office b*tch) so called in sick for tonights shift. It will lose me about £40 in wages, but better one day off now, rather than a week if I try and struggle thru it.
Feeling a little better after a long sleep, but head still feeling foggy, and my ears feel like I'm under water.

Hi x_raphael_xx
This is very easy to write and doing it is far more difficult but the only person that can upset you is YOU. You may need a moment or two to think about that one.
Treat her for what she is, a two year old ranting and raving.
Try this one, look at her, shake your head and then walk away from her. No matter what she says, do not turn back and if she starts to follow you, ignore her and continue walking towards the toilets. Wait ten minute and then return.
If she starts on you again, repeat the process and if she continues to have a go at you, go to the personal office and make an official complaint. While you are complaining about her, keep cool and calm about it.
The cooler the better and then when they have a word with her, she will start to rant and rave. In the companies eyes this will make her look very bad.
Explain to the personal office (human resourse) that you are trying to do your job to the best of your abilities but she is constantly HARASING YOU for no real reason. Be apologetic about having to complain about a fellow work colleague but tell them that this is causing you UNDUE STRESS at work.
Under no circumstances must you show her that she is getting to you. This is what she is looking for and if she knows she can get it from you, she will do it even more.
Ps. remind the company that if it was the other way round and she was complaining about you, they would be down on you like a tonne of bricks.0 -
Robflh,
- balance transfer from card 1 to card 2
- buy goods with card 1 and pay off debt with saved cash
- second balance transfer from card 1 to card 2
