Insurance for a car declared SORN

Like I said it depends where you live. If you're in the sort of area where that sort of car crime is common then you'd want the insurance. Also depends what sort of car it is. Something like a 5 year old base model focus probably isn't going to be that attractive to thieves that use low loaders.Because removing the battery would really stop someone towing it away. Clamping firms manage to remove cars without starting them....
I could probably leave my car unlocked on the drive for 8 months and come back to it!0 -
Sorry to hijack this thread, but would this type of insurance work for someone who has a car sorned for 2 years but driving a company vehicle and wishes to preserve their maximum NCD for their personal car, as most companies disregard NCD if uninsured for more than 2 years and his is about 4 months away from that.
You generally don't earn NCB on classic car insurance, so I doubt you would on lay up insurance either.
I'd just stick it on a low mileage policy and agree with then not to exceed, say, 4000 miles.0
