    Like I said it depends where you live. If you're in the sort of area where that sort of car crime is common then you'd want the insurance. Also depends what sort of car it is. Something like a 5 year old base model focus probably isn't going to be that attractive to thieves that use low loaders.

    I could probably leave my car unlocked on the drive for 8 months and come back to it!

    You generally don't earn NCB on classic car insurance, so I doubt you would on lay up insurance either.

    I'd just stick it on a low mileage policy and agree with then not to exceed, say, 4000 miles.
