Reading another thread has just reminded me of another thing that accounts for part of my debt - approx £2,800 on tattoos!

Been a slow day today workwise, gonna disappear soon I think as I have a cleaning job to get to before I can go home :)

How much on tatts?!!?!? Eek that's shocking, although I know how much they cost!

How many have you got Becsicle? Must be quite a collection/large one to have cost that ;). I have a small collection my self. I worked in a tattoo shop (on reception) when I was 17 and got quite a few free of charge although the last few I have had to pay for :(. Most of mine are quite old now and need re-colouring and I would like to get the ones I have on both shoulders joined up in some way.

All of mine mean something or represent a certain time in my life, sometimes I regret them but for the majority of the time they remind me of special things :D

Unfortunately the place I go too is £80 an hour, but the girl who does mine is brilliant and the place only does custom stuff so I know I'm the only one with it.

I have a fairy on the lower left hand side of my back (the fat bit over your kidney - what's that called?!) hip??? Or is hip the front? Wow, I've just managed to sound not too bright!) and another fairy on the bottom of my left leg. These are joined by flowers and butterflies round from the right of my stomach along the bottom of my back, then I have a waterfall going down my left leg right from the top, so that the fairy is sitting in the bottom. I also have a hummingbird on my right side-bum (that sounds so bad!) flying up to the flowers that go round.

All that probably makes no sense!

The fairies are from an artist in California that does fairy artwork that I love and I asked to use the stuff and she said yes if I sent her a photo. And then my tattooist designed the rest of it around my ideas (not my drawings, that would have been bad!)

    What have you got Jody?

Sounds like today has been a good day for most! You have gone sub £7k on your loan, Woo is sub £12.5k and it's Adam's birthday, yay for celebrations! :j:beer:.

In a way I wish I had just one tattoo that I extended rather than the seperate ones I have! Just going to see if I have any pics before I describe them all....

Ok here is my latest addition, it's the chinese symbol for fate (I really believe in fate and that everything happens for a reason), I had this done just as OH and I started talking again, he loves this tattoo! One day I might bore you with the long twisted tale of how we got together ;)

It's on the inside of my right wrist:

This is the addition before that....I'm proud to be English and wanted something that reflected that but without looking hooligan-ish if that makes sense? It's in the middle of my back, just above where your bra would sit.

I don't have any other pics on my photobucket but the others are a dragon on my right shoulder with chinese symbols for female and courage, I had it just as I left school (I was constantly bullied) and it was my way of saying I would be stronger and not put up with that again - and I haven't! Above the England one is some tribal work with pink flowers, on my left shoulder is an Orchid with my daughters name and at the top of each arm I have more tribal work, one with a pink flower and one with an orange rose.

At some point in the future I want to join up the ones on my back and the ones on my arms, maybe with stars or similar :D

    Sorry for size/rubbish pics!

How annoying - work internet won't let me see the photos! Will have to check them out tomorrow night at my Mum's as we still have no internet at home.

They sound really cool though, nice to have some meaning to them too. Mine were purely cause I thought they looked cool! :D

I had a very good day yesterday - popped into Lloyds on the way home and have managed to take out a second loan for 15K at 14.9%.

This has allowed me to clear the two overdrafts from my Lloyds accounts, my four credit cards, most of what I owe to my Dad (apart from what's on 4.9%) and put aside the money for Borneo. All of this was on interest rates of 20 odd percent so I have worked out that it has saved me £424 in interest and also really simplified my finances which is good.

I offered to pay my Mum back as well even though this is not costing interest as I wanted to make the offer in case she needed the money and hadn't said. Bless her she told me not to pay back any faster than I already am.

So that left me £300 to pay to my OH so we are now half and half on the flat deposit and £600 that I sent straight back to the loan. No point keeping hold of it!

I have also not paid back the Santander OD as that is still 0% till August 2011.

The loan I got has no early repayment penalties and the interest is calculated daily (apparently only Lloyds and Barclays still do this) so all overpayments will help to reduce the interest costs, same as on a CC.

    Phew!

All in all it's worked out very well. :D

Thats great news with the loan Beccie and I know you wont be tempted to run those cards up again as we have all learned our lesson, haven't we!!!!

Does that mean you can make overpayments as often as you want?

You will need to change your signature now!
