If you can't seem to find it and give up looking you can download the excel viewer which lets you look at excel files without installing the whole program.0

Do you have a c:\program files\microsoft office directory?Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0

An alternative is openoffice
http://www.openoffice.org/
It is a free program and will allow you to open and work with excel files.

Instead of searching for excel.exe search for *.xls in files and folders. If it finds any, double click on one, and see if it opens. If windows asks you to choose a program, then Excel is gone. If it opens automatically, then the installation is still there, but needs a new shortcut.
We'll work on that if needs be.0
