  • Start - Search. Search for excel.exe and create a shortcut to it.

Gone from where? Has the shortcut you usually use disappeared? What version of Office are you using? What OS do you have?

As a first step try doing a search on your hard drive for 'EXCEL.EXE'. This will at least confirm whether or not the application itself is missing or just the shortcut.

Let us know how you get on.

Start -> Search -> Files of Folders

In the 'All or part of the filename box' enter: Excel.exe

How long is a piece of string?

How big is your hard drive?

    How fast is your processor?

Is the file on your PC?

If you have searched for excel.exe and it has not been found, you have not got it on your machine anymore assuming that you searched all drives i.e. C: D: etc.

    Time to re-install.
