Apologies, this is nothing to do with Bon Jovi tickets but I have found the issue of failing to thank very interesting reading. I agree that it is common courtesy to thank someone when they have given you free tickets but I don't think the issue is specific to new posters.
My very first post on MSE a couple of years ago was in response to someone offering a DFDS mini-cruise that they'd won. Happily, the poster did not mind the fact that I was a newbie and passed their prize onto me. I sent a thank you email immediately and again when I returned from my trip
A few weeks later, there were free tickets being given out for the Afrika Afrika show at the O2 (not sure if anyone remembers) At the time, I was working in London a lot but didn't know when I'd be sent back home (some weeks we were in London all week, other times we'd be sent home on the Wed) so I applied for shows for various dates. On one occasion, we were sent home on the Wed and I had secured tix for the Thurs night so offered on here to the first person to PM. I rec'd a message from a newbie, just saying 'I'll take them - send to email .....'
I thought the message a bit rude but assumed the poster had been in a mad hurry to PM first so emailed the tix through. I never heard another thing and was absolutely gobsmacked at the rudeness. Last year, I won some tickets for Avenue Q and wasn't in London on the dates offered so I offered them on the comps board. An established poster PM'd to request them and again I never heard a thing back
I am now very reluctant to offer anything on the forums, which is a terrible shame. Please, if someone does a good turn, have the common decency to send a quick thank-you.
To keep this on-topic, hope everyone who managed to get these tickets to see Bon Jovi had a great night08 wins £3000+ :j09 wins £4408:j2010 (6 months off) £2004:j2011 £10,003 :j 2012 - £6013 :j2013 wins £8500 :j 2014 £5530 so far....0 -
It's such a shame that this thread has really upset some people new and old.....I am relatively new, got Bon Jovi tickets and am still grateful to the OP and hit thanks as soon as I found the post and posted a message after.
Quick search on Google and this thread comes up.
If you were a fan and came across the chance of free tickets would you not try your luck ???
Hopefully like I have all the other new people will start posting their own deals/competitions etc and not be put off by feeling they are not welcome! This site is only so great because of the goodwill of all the posters, long may it continue!!
Will keep checking the site out, as been registered for quite a while, but nothing i've wanted has ever come up,and i never seem to get anything of any use to give either!!, and sometime's you feel a bit guilty about asking for things for nothing, but they were Bon Jovi tickets after all..anyway..in the end i couldn't go..but maybe next time certain people should realise that there are probably thousands of people registered who dont post...doesn't say you have to does it..manners people..manners...doesn't hurt you know.:)0 -
Must be desperate to fill seats. "Hold on, we're half way there - take my free tickets and we'll make it I swear"0

try mse'rs, they'll play fair, if they can't use it, they'll always share,
giving for a prayer0 -
Hiyas,
My son took his girlfriend with him to the O2 on Friday night, using the tickets I obtained here from Sparky61.
Just posting to let everyone know that they had a fantastic night and they have asked me to pass their thanks to Sparky61.
Cheers Sparky61, your genorisity is very much appreciated by my family.
Thanks

I am totally gobsmacked that someone would ask for money on a forum in a website entiled MONEYSAVING.
I thought peeps came on here for advice, help and to do the same for others - not act as some damn tout when others have shared a great freebie/grabbit.

Personally, Im gobsmacked that despite it stating on this forum that you cannot sell items, and despite the fact that I reported that post TWICE yesterday Admin decided to leave it there.0 -
Hello all
Can I start off by saying that this post is in no way aimed to upset or offend anyone (I do at times find it difficult to articulate myself when writing things)
Whether or not you believe I am a long time 'lurker' and relatively new poster is a matter of personal opinion. I haven't until contributed much to the site as I'm not particularly fantastic at finding offers (that haven't already been posted), I always shop with asda when I questioned them as to my lack of offers/codes they told me it was because I opted out of reciving information from external partners (external partners also being asda!).
We do all have to start somewhere and the way I look at it is, if this thread has enticed new people on to the website (whether or not they were successful at gaining tickets) they increse the chances of you getting more offers in the future! Everyone I have come accross so far has been friendly but fair. There have been a few comments that have made me question whether or not to return to the site! I don't want to be welcomed by a torrent of abuse because I've asked for something.
I will make mistakes, I will post a repeat or post in the wrong place... I'm only human and as a mum of 4 toddlers I have a brain that has gone to mush by this time of day! I thank people (now that I know how! ) when I have something to thank them for, and am grateful to everyone who contributes, if I ever come across a fantastic code/deal or offer I will of course share!
Have a lovely sunny evening everyone

I'm not saying its right to try and sell tickets on here but I would imagine £80 for two tickets to see Bon Jovi were money saving as I would guess they would of been alot more to buy anywhere else.
And Ali802 I felt the same after reading this thread do I really want to hang with people who abuse new posters but ya know what they are the minority, there are some lovely people on this forum who have been so nice and helpful and never expect anything in return so stay and enjoy and happy moneysaving0
