b & q sell them but they are pricey but so nice, I went for the ebony gloss when i did my kitchen last year and this one came in just after we finished the kitchen. I would have gone for this one instead.

    they are £104.00 in b&q

It's a speedstone quartz worktop. The sparkly one is onyx black. Try any granite supplier. you will need solid wood carcases as this worktop is really heavy! If you get it I will be so so jealous!

Worldofworktops.co.uk do a worktop called Zodiaq which you can get in Galaxy black. This looks the same as the black sparkly B&Q Speedstone but is solid and quotes slightly cheaper than B&Q.

I got the B&Q one recently and it looks gorgeous but I wouldn't rate the service and the fitting. I think it is fairly new to B&Q and the fitters didn't seem too confident about doing it, so you might be better going to a company who specialise in fitting this type of worktop. HTH

  • Desperately looking to buy 'Speedstone Quartz "Onyx Black" Granite worktop separately as have ordered kitchen elsewhere (and paid deposit). B&Q won't sell worktop unless you have kitchen fitted by them, so not impressed. My kitchen fitters will even fit the worktop for me as appreciate customers won't like everything in their store, so great customer service there (well done Magnet). No offence to B&Q, but it's just a basic DIY place so am I missing something as just don't get it? The amount of people who I have seen who are/were interested, B&Q would've made an absolute mint and exceeded their kitchen sales (fools)!!

Can anyone recommend a local granite supplier in Watford or near who would sell this worktop?

Soz, don't mean to sound cheeky, but a PDQ reply would be very much appreciated as running out of time.

    Thanx in advance.

Hi r black its a fairly new concept to b and q however all the fitters went through a course to learn how to cut and fit speedstone ,a full new kit of tools are required at a cost of £1100.00,must just have been your fitters as all the guys i know in scotland who fit speedstone are very capable indeed, including me.

I wish you weren't in Scotland! I've got all my units fitted and am just waiting for the Guys to come and fit it so that I can finally have a hob and a sink after nearly a month :wall:

We got a rejected customer order of the Black Speedstone from B&Q for an absolute song :)
