VCR recording with digibox

We are trying to set up our VCR to record using a Scart cable between the digibox and the tv, but nothing happens. I was told
it was because the VCR was too old, but I'm reluctant to pay out
for a new one as it's not used much. any ideas please.

You need a separate digi box for the recorder. Otherwise you will only be able to record the programme you are watching.0

Its easier to buy a PVR0

You need to connect a scart from the digibox to the vcr.0
