What time is her exam out of interest and how long is it?

Valli - if I want to make strawberry jam how ripe do I want the strawberries, under, just or over? Do I use equal amount of sugar to jam? Do I need jam sugar (I have half a bag left so thought I use it up)

her exam is 1.30 - 3.30 - i shall do a double check that the school hasn't altered the time tomorrow:rotfl:

But there must be something sticking - yesterday I found myself scrubbing out the bath and wash basin; I'd only gone in the bathroom to change the towels.......

Joy of the day to you, boys and girls :)

Well done :A I love it when newbies start to see the fruit of their labours :)
You would be surprised how much mess my family can make in an hour:eek:

Get them helping :D We spend 30 mins or so each evening, with me in charge :p I direct operations, and ask each person to do a job. 2 hours Flying done in 30 mins :T

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek just openned the top of the water butt to water the veg patch (quicker than filling the can from the tap) and I have bred my own colony of mozzies! Of all the things I do not need and the kitchen door was open whilst I released them!

I imagine there are a lot of people who think it's a good idea :( needless to say I shan't join the debate there.

DS's school si putting a big screen up in the hall. Sadly, DS has A-level maths class after school, so he's going to that and then watch the end of the match :T I'm not too bothered, but the LEA has a blanket ban on all Y10 and Y11 taking any hoilday in term time, so they're not exactly consistent *roll eyes smilie*

    Dusty - under/just ripe

'fruit for jam making should be firm, under ripe or only just ripe and fresh'

Stawberries are low in pectin so you need jam sugar OR granulated sugar and lemon juice

your proportions are 1lb stawberries to 1lb sugar you can go SLIGHTLY over with your fruit...

My recipe uses 1.5 lb sugar to 2 lb strawberries :D Delia if you fancy a google. If I've picked any green berries, they go in as they assist the set, and they absorb the red when cooked, so you don;t notice them :)

Happy Anniversary to Mr and Mrs Cally

    :j:DDD passed her driving test!!!:D:j

(Can you tell I'm thrilled for her?? First time too.)

Just to keep things in balance, having celebrated the aquisition of a washing line - my washing machine went up in a puff of smoke this evening.

I'll be flying tomorrow - so love and hugs until then.

    :hello:Hi vivw! How are you?

  • Come on then, Piggers,

'I'm just a little black rain cloud, hovering under the honey tree
I'm only a little black rain cloud, pay no attention to little me

Oh everyone knows that a rain cloud never eats honey, no not a nip
I'm just floating around, over the ground
    Wondering where I will drip'

    (From here)

PenPen, are you sure you want to name your bees? There are 50,000 of them in the average hive at this time of year, after all - and that is a lot of girl's names to think up :D
