I bought a Wickes takeaway kitchen as a cheap stop gap 20 months ago, basically it was end of line and hugely discounted (think it was called rockingham) and when we got it i was surprised how good it was - build quality seems very good and only real issue i had was the back panels do not cover the whole of the back of the unit so there is a gap to see the wall behind. In the end we have finished the kitchen off rather than replace now and found that Focus now sell the same kitchen with different handles for 5 times the price we paid !!

Im pretty sure the wickes to order units are better quality 18mm vs 15mm etc and when we do redo the kitchen i will certinally have a good look at wickes (not keen on the style, as i mentioned it was a cheap stop gap that we paid less than even the most basic units we could see but they turned out half decent)

It seems solid and should make at least the next 4 months ;)

I brought 2 x 50cm Miami Drawer Units but while building them I noticed that the top drawer over laps the top of the unit so if I were to put worktop on top the front would rest on the top of the drawer. I've tried adjusting the height of the draws but they don't adjust enough go below the top.

Had to dismantle them :( and I'm going to hopefully exchange them tomorrow as I believe the holes on the drawer fronts are in the wrong place, anyone else had this problem?

You did try turning the the drawer frontal upside down, didn't you?
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

Who are Wickes anyhows (well, ok, not strictly true, they are part of Travis Perkins, but use Wickes kitchens...)
