Parking Ticket - 1 minute

I think I got no leg to stand on here but I parked in a Taxi Rank for 1 minute this morning and was fined. My mum was having trouble in the coach station so I ran out to see if she needed help. When returning (45 seconds later) the Warden was issuing me a ticket. Any room to contest or just pay the 35 notes?

Just pay mate - they have no heart.

You could try appealing to their better nature - but they don't tend to have one.

I am not having a go at you, but as a former taxi driver, I was glad to see people getting ticketed for parking on taxi ranks, people who park there often make it harder for taxi drivers to make a living, so I got no sympathy for you.

But others on here will tell you to take pictures of any signs, is the taxi rank for certain hours only etc, best of luck with it

They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

Sorry, but don't have much sympathy for taxi drivers, many of whom seem to think they own the road, especially those picking up or dropping off fares and blocking the road at the same time as happened to me the other night.

Right now we have got the arguments out of the way, lets see if anyone can help.
Can you copy/scan/photo the ticket, both sides, host on tiny pic and put the url on here. Remove personal details.
get pics of the signs, lines etc. Confirm that this taxi rank is not on private property.
    That'll do for a start.

typical comment from someone who has never been a taxi driver trying to make a living, obviously in your world nobody else obstructs traffic. For your info taxi drivers pay a lot of money to use these taxi ranks, they are there for the use of taxis not for people to park their cars on a night out, and finally without taxis your night out won't go very well when trying to get home. So people who park on taxi ranks are fully deserving of tickets most of the time, so no sympathy from me for drivers who think they own the road and can park on these ranks without comeback.

except he wasn't having a night out, he was merely helping his mother into the coach station. Foolish yes, to imagine he could dare to do so outside the coach station in an empty bay normally reserved for taxi's who have a "living to earn" (Of course, no one but taxi drivers try to make a living *rolls eyes*).

It doesn't matter if its a night out or parking there for just a few minutes because you think you should be the exception of the rules, and if its properly signed as a taxi rank and you park there , yes you should be booked. And by the way parking on a taxi rank restricts people from making a living, if somebody was restricting you from earning, I think you'd have enough to say.

Sure I would. But I'd also put it into perspective and not be a drama queen about it. If I was a cabbie, and the guy in front was helping his mother out of the car, I doubt I'd squeal about it.

Edit: then again, maybe a few years of being a cabbie, would indeed turn me into a drama queen. So who knows if I'd squeal.

Not a drama queen as you put it, but sometimes parking tickets are justified, if she wanted to help her mum she should have parked up and went with her to the coach. Which brings me to the next point, she wasn't helping get somebody out of the car, she left the car parked and went elsewhere, are the council wardens supposed to telepathic as well ?

I'm convinced they actually are telepathic. They always seem to appear the minute the ticket runs out.

Sure she should have parked 'properly'. But she says that she saw her mother struggling, and just parked to help.

I once stopped in the middle of road on Vauxhall Bridge Road, in order to help a drunk get up off the road. It took about a minute or two to get him to the street and sorted.
I guess that common sense isn't applied when wardens are on bonuses.
