Thoms Cook Inflight Entertainment Cancelled

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice please.

My pals and I are going on holiday to Cyprus in two weeks. We booked with Thomas Cook Style Collection. This type of holiday gave you a few perks (good job for how much it cost!). Just received our tickets from TC with a note that following a review of customer feedback they will not now be offering any in-flight entertainment for flights less than 7hrs.

Can they do this?
Surely this is a breach of contract?

We booked the holiday when the inflight entertainment was on offer, in fact they now state that our complimentary voucher for free headsets can be exchanged for a drink!!!

Any advice would be appreciated.

Yes we go to Turkey in a couple of weeks and received the same letter.
It doesn't bother me too much but my teenage Daughters are less than impressed.
I don't think there is anything you can do unfortunately :(

    .

Pretty sure it's not - the T&C will allow for things like this

Advice - try and get over this urge for non- stop 'entertainment'. Even when it exists it's rubbish. I rarely bother to even unwrap the free headsets where provided.

Take your own portable dvd player then you can watch what you want to anyway and not whats put in front of you.

Afraid there's no breach of contract at least your getting an extra drink instead of your headphones, but a lot of customers are annoyed as are many of the Thomas Cook staff they can't believe it either.
  • Surely "entertainment" is pushing it a bit when it comes to a few televisions showing old movies?

The books are sitting just there on the floor.

Of course it's not great when they don't provide something you've booked - but Cyprus - what is it - 4 / 4 1/2 hours?

It's hardly flying to Australia. When you are looking to see if it's breach of contract, what are you planning to do - take them to court? Sue them for emotional distress?

I've frequently found myself flying long-haul when the inflight entertainment breaks down (about 1 in 2 BA flights) - which is surely worse - 12 hour flight and not prepared for it? However, I now come prepared with a good book, magazine, pen, and sometimes companionship. Conversation makes for a wonderful replacement for a 4 inch TV!
