I wish there was a site to post people's registration numbers on to name and shame them when they are jaw droppingly rude to another driver.

Today in the petrol station I had gone in to pay, no spaces to park after filling so left my car at the pump, as did the woman who was at the pump in front of me. (We're talking Tesco Riverside in Dundee)

I paid and came out to find a Volvo XC90 driving into the space for the petrol pump to the front of my car, recently vacated by the woman in front of me in the queue, but she was so far out from the pump I couldn't get out myself. I gestured that there was no space to exit but all I got was a gesture that said 'I'm not going to do anything about this' and she turned her back on me and started filling up her car.

:mad::mad: How ignorant is that - is it an XC90 thing, or do other people find this happens to them.

The driver is very lucky I managed to stay almost calm, I can see why incidents of road rage happen.

So, Mrs XC90 SP08 **N (or the specky ginger wifie with the two ginger kids as she's been nick-named in our house:o) if you're reading this, next time I see you at the petrol station , will you expect the same treatment from me? Shame you chose to block someone with such a good memory for reg plates, isn't it? (don't want to publish it on here, that might get me into hot water.

I'd still love a website to name and shame drivers. I've said on here before that I think the police could make a fortune providing experience days where you got to drive round with the cops for a day nicking people for speeding outside your kids school, talking on their mobiles going round roundabouts, for driving at 35 on a motorway etc...:rotfl:

Not sure this is a good idea to be too specific but i hope the OP feels better now!

However a more general name and shame is a good idea. This joke is doing the rounds - apologies if everyone has heard it before.

The recent safety legislation requiring those with a short attention span and poor driving skills to display on their car a white flag with a red cross on it has been highly successful.

Let us hope that it can be extended beyond the four weeks trial period

How was the woman after the Volvo ran her over? :D

Any reason why you didn't Pay at Pump? (unless you have a fuel card - I have and wish I could pay at pump!!!)

It boils down to pure selfishness on the part of the woman driver. Society has raised millions of these me me me people who think the world revolves around them. And what you say about road rage is true. Today she's met you, just someone who is irritated by her actions, tomorrow it'll be the freak with the knife and she'll be bleating about how unfair it all is.

Because DD and I were travelling through to Edinburgh and I wanted to pick up juice for the journey. The pump in front of me was pay at kiosk only, so Mrs Ginger had to go in to shop to pay too.

Fixed my typo - meant to say the woman in front's recently vacated space.:rotfl:

Take a look at my avatar. Goes to show that the middle aged woman wanting you to be more considerate might not be as soft as you think.;)

Lucky for her my martial arts oath is "Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self Control, Indomitable Spirit"

She could do with a few lessons in Courtesy or maybe perseverance - just persevering / trying a bit harder would have got her Volvo closer to the pump and let other cars pass without incident.;)

  • I think we ALL need to get some perspective. Maybe the woman was a bit embarassed that she couldn't park her volvo nearer the pump, maybe she thought you had enough room, maybe someone impatiant had been at her to move into the space ahead of you while you were paying, maybe she was having a generally shlt day, maybe she reacted to you in the way she did out of nervousness etc etc etc. Maybe we've all been in her position at least once in our lives.

You were delayed by, maybe, 5 minutes. Maybe, if it was that much of an issue, you should have waited until the car that was ahead of you had paid and gone, then used the front space? If it wasn't that much of an issue, why get your blood pressure up?

After all, it IS only petrol.
